First of all when I came to the beach (where my friends booked 5 sunbeds) I was amazed with the dirt on the sand. Seems that all rubbish and dirt of Limassol was taken just to this tiny territory of Nammos beach. Specially for guests who pay 50€ for a sun bed. So when I came I saw that there is no 5th sunbed, cause to my friends the waiter told that they would add it as soon as I come. When I called the waiter to put one sunbed next to my friends, he asked “but this is not for free! Do you know this? Do you know the price?” Well, of course I don’t know I am homeless and with no money, dear! Randomly decided to lay next to a company of people who were talking to me! He moved the sunbed and…didn’t bring me neither table for plates or personal stuff, neither asked if it would be fine if I will have no umbrella or he should move the sunbed closer to my friends umbrella, neither offered me fruits (which are included to that OMG not for free sunbed). Thanks for towel at least.) So about the fruits, I paid as everyone but didn’t get it. When we asked for water, he brought us glasses and water. But then we see that glasses were dirty and one was with someone’s hair in it. Due to the fact that it was a beach there was no objective argument to tell him that it was taken with it to us..so we were drinking from bottles. When we decided to go to swim I was regretting to go to that water already. Cause with clearest water on Cyprus we found the dirtiest place ever! All the rubbish as plastic, pieces of food, and some other stuff was there. To go to shower will take you some time as there is no shower next to the beach. When you are passing the waiters in order to take shower from all this dust (all the bags and things were left on the sunbed) that wonderful waiter decided to remind us to pay for for the beds)) in case we would escape in swimsuits maybe) So the experience of being on that beach was amazing and unforgettable for sure!) Plus to this we were having lunch and dinner there as we planned to spend whole day there And actually spent there over 750€. But the service didn’t become better nevertheless after realising we are not homeless actually)
The atmosphere was saved just due to a dj set which was somehow making that...
Read moreWe closed a table for drinks with 4 friends. We went there and thought very positively of the decor and atmosphere. Sure the greeting was a bit snooty - as if a waiter in a fancy Mykonos wannabe restaurant has some social status but we were fine. We sat got menus - ordered our 10 EUR waters and then saw the menu with 30 EUR entry level glasses of wine, 30 EUR cocktails and 50 EUR tuna tartare appetizers. We decided to stick with the plan of having a drink and leaving - weren't hungry anyway. We ordered 4 cocktails and told the waiter we would only be having drinks. The one waiter came and removed our plates and the other came and told us that their policy was not to allow tables to be taken up for drinks (despite the drinks being 30 EUR a piece) and that they would like us to move to the bar. We explained that we weren't willing to move to the bar and sti side by side with our friends so our choices were leaving now or having a drink and leaving. They agreed but offcourse after poisoning the atmosphere. We were in a great mood so it didn't affect us but our predisposition towards this place was already negative. Then came the drinks - I've had Strawberry Margaritas in all cities in Cyprus and all around the world. This was the worst one I ever had. No syrup, not frozen but instead it tasted like a watered down non frozen margarita that was small. My friend tried it and confirmed that at 30 EUR not only wasn't it 'on par' but in fact it was horrible. The rest of the drinks were fine but uneventful. We had our drinks and left. By the time we left on a Friday they had three tables that were eating. All other tables were empty.
If you're a nouveau riche insecure person with a need to throw away money - go and spend 350 EUR per kilo for the same fish you pay 70 EUR elsewhere (eyes of the fish also suggested it had been there a few days). Otherwise you likely want to avoid this place. You can't even enjoy the atmosphere with...
Read moreWe are staying at the ParkLane, with Nammos set in the grounds of the hotel.
We are at Nammos on our second night, with some trepidation having read the on line reviews. Sadly, we should have heeded their warning as almost all of the negative comments rang true in our dinner experience.
The setting is lovely. It’s very convenient if you are staying in the hotel, and the reception staff at the restaurant are lovely.
The serving staff are tolerable but you get the feeling that they are constantly trying to up-sell you to order the most expensive items on the menu.
The menu itself is rather limited, with fish only available if you order the entire fish rather than individual portions.
The actual food itself was of a good quality and well presented but the lack of attentive service and the arrogance of some of the staff meant that we couldn’t wait to settle up and leave.
The wine list is comprehensive but many of the wines were not available and the wine is very overpriced. We are very happy to pay for expensive wines but when they wish to charge €90 for M Minutey that you know you buy in Waitrose for £15 somewhat takes the ‘P’. You can also buy it in the hotel bar at €60 so you really do feel you are being ripped off here.
I think for some they may leave and have an entirely different opinion of the night. But this one isn’t for us and one I would strongly advise people to avoid. The worst overall dinning experience I can remember having. And yet I’m so British I still have...
