This Restaurant belongs to the "5 Star Hotel St. Raphael".
So you need to enter the hotel and then signs will guide you to the Restaurant which is located in the cellar.
A lady behind a desk will check your reservation and Corona pass. We have not received a warm welcome.
What a pity that she had problems to find the reservation although it was done 15 minutes before from our hotel.
But finally she found it and guided us to our table. Even there we have missed a warm welcome...
The ambiance is stylish and cool.
Why the Restaurant is named " Golden Monkey " is a secret because the Golden Statue in the middle of the room is a lady (QUEEN?).
Fast the staff has cared about us.
I already have downloaded the menu and wine list before arrival.
What a pity that I needed to search for the staff to take our orders.
So we ordered a small bottle of sparkling water and got asked " For two? Don't you want to order a big bottle?" Then we ordered the " Golden Monkey Platters" for two and the head waiter has asked me: " And what do you want to order for the main course?"
This leads to the question: Is selling the main interest of the staff?
In addition we ordered a bottle of fine red wine from Chile.
The taste of the " Golden Monkey platters" was average. The prawns were dry. The platters were served with 3 different sauces in small cups.
We then needed to order spoons to get it out...
After finishing the platters the head waiter has passed ( not stopped) our table while walking to ask how was the meal...
The taste was average but the wine is good I have answered.
The server who has cared about our wine including refilling has done a good job.
Finally I have ordered the bill and wanted to pay with my AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD which was rejected and I got told that the 5 Star Hotel is not accepting this card....
My subjective rating: Ambiance: 4 Stars Service: 2 Stars Quality and preparation of meals: 3 Stars Value for money: 2-3 Stars Location: 4 Stars Presentation of...

The newly opened restaurant is more than just good quality food, it’s the great service and beautiful decor that makes it the restaurant that it is 😍
We visited for date night a few weeks ago and we tried (in order of photos)
Golden monkey platter which was a selection of its finest starters: Shrimp spring rolls, Vegetable spring rolls, Chicken satay, Minced Chicken Cakes and a variety of sauces.
We loved all of them but wouldn’t order it again for just the two of us as we were too full for the mains 😅 so.. either get it with a group of four people or save some room for the main dishes 👍
Chicken Pad Thai - Our absolute favourite dish, this is an absolute must try 🤤❤️ The mixture of soft and crunchy textures and the explosion of flavours - just wow!
Stir fried beef - we also loved this! Soft and tasty - Definetely on our must try list for anyone visiting 😍
Green curry - My oh my this is a curry you need to try 😮 I’m not a huge fan of curry but this was so tasty without being overpowering and strong.
Ask for mild if you are afraid of the spice in some of the dishes and you can always adjust it accordingly with the varity of spices, sugar and chili sauces they bring to your table 😍
For dessert we had the deep fried banana with honeycomb and thai tea ice-cream 👏 I personally didn’t like the thai tea ice-cream but that’s a personal preference not because it wasn’t tasty 🤷♀️ The banana was super yummy though 🤤
Don’t get me started on the cocktails. They’re all super unique and beautifully presented. The mixologist explained everything to us when we couldn’t decide and we were so halpy with what we chose - don’t remember their names, sorry 😅
We really can’t wait to go back again and try some more of their dishes - it’s a great choice for a night out in Limassol - Definetely in...
Read moreI love establishments with history and philosophy, and this place is likely one of those, with a history of decorations. I heard that the Buddha statue was brought from Thailand, which speaks volumes about their commitment to authenticity. This is a huge plus.
Thank you very much for the welcome. The hostess at the entrance was wonderful. As soon as the doors opened, she greeted us with a Thai bow. We were then shown to our table and given the option to choose where we wanted to sit.
Regarding the menu, unfortunately, not everything was available, but we still managed to make our choices. Overall, everything was enjoyable, except for the tofu with cashews. I don't understand why they use smoked tofu. It doesn't suit this dish at all, and I would strongly recommend reconsidering the tofu supplier and the preparation of this dish because the ingredients don't complement each other. We couldn't eat or enjoy the dish, even though it was the one I was looking forward to the most.
Fortunately, the waitstaff kindly took the dish back and did not include it on the bill, which also left a positive impression.
Thank you for the evening, I would...
