I've been a regular at this restaurant for some years, but I'm disappointed to share that recent changes have significantly affected the dining experience.
In the past months, the menu has been drastically overhauled. Portion sizes have been reduced considerably, and meals now feel more like fast food than the proper restaurant experience we used to enjoy. What's particularly frustrating is that side dishes and complimentary items - like the salad that used to come with meals - have been eliminated entirely.
The result? You now need to order roughly twice as much food to feel satisfied, which makes the visit substantially more expensive than before. What used to be a reasonably priced meal has become quite costly.
That said, I have to be fair: the food itself still tastes good. The quality and flavor haven't suffered - it's just that everything else about the experience has changed for the worse.
I hope management reconsiders these changes. The food quality is there, but the value proposition just isn't what...
Read moreSOMETHING HAS CHANGED Alesta has been trading for more years than I care to remember. The owner is a charming man always welcoming and polite. Good honest Turkish food at affordable prices. Great little venue with a Fabulous hidden garden. Revisit in May 2024. l have removed my five star rating of old. This visit with friends was quite awful. The waiter didn't know what he was doing he took the order for our drinks that included three Bottles of Tuborg He eventually returned with one bottle only. No more Tuborg the simple remedy to that is walk across the road to the Mini market and get some. Very difficult decision to make then I looked at the bottle of Tuborg that was on the table and it was 5 MONTHS PASSED IT'S SELL BY DATE. So that was removed and we had to wait 20 minutes for our three beers . I don't know why it took so long but we had our food on the table and still waiting for our drinks. The food was fine BUT the service was absolute Crap . You need better staff. We have...
Read moreI’d probably be awarding 5 stars had my grilled chicken spaghetti not been so dry and tasteless - I do not recommend it as it’s literally pasta (I had penne, but it was also also available with spaghetti) and dry grilled tasteless chicken pieces served with a very bland grated cheese (definitely not Parmesan or Pecorino) and no sauce of any kind. The green salad was “just that” - plain green salad. The fried ice cream was ok. On the plus side, the restaurant was clean, friendly and welcoming. My menu choices were probably the worst I could have made. All the other food which came out looked and smelled delicious. I’m prepared to give it another go and order completely differently and edit my review...
