Charming little café in Girne!
I went there in the early evening (they close later than it says in google maps, which was a pleasant surprise) and had a cappuccino with caramel syrup and two “ferrero rocher” bonbons — some kind of homemade version, very tasty but lacking the distinctive wafer encasing.
I sat outside and took my time enjoying my excellent coffee and good chocolate; I liked that they bring your sugar (it was a kind of sugar I never saw, dark and fine, and not overtly sweet) in a little bowl, instead of packets. Makes me feel better about the copious amounts I use to sweeten my coffee! 😆
It was quiet and nice, and the decoration is simply superb. Even the roof inside is unique, as well as the worn, patterned tile on the floor. There’s some items for sale (I didn’t check it out closely, so I don’t know what exactly, but I do remember seeing some earrings and clothes).
The only reason I cannot bring myself to give shiny five stars to this place is that the bathroom was disappointing. There was a mop just sitting there, the toilet was quite dirty as well as the sink, and the window had lots of spiderwebs in it, so I imagine they haven’t been careful about cleaning in quite a while. A shame, as all the rest is beautiful and the details are lovely — I tend to be a stickler about bathrooms (their cleanliness, decoration and overall vibe often make or break a place to me, as it tends to be more far away from the spotlight and I feel like it’s a big indicator of how a place is run) and I wish that small piece of the overall composition received as much care and attention as the rest of it seemed to get.
Either way, it’s a great place and I will...
A very unusual cafe and easy to miss) a peculiar atmosphere, interesting design, unusual details. The place is excellent for small companies, discussions, practices. Slightly distracting road and traffic noise. You can order drinks (including champagne) and desserts. Home roasted coffee. Desserts seem to be prepared by the hostess herself. There was a new Snickers, but it doesn't look like it at all. The barista speaks Turkish/English/Russian. The room is very small, there is a separate room for gatherings by the company, it is better to book it in advance. The second part of the cafe is a showroom of women's clothing and accessories. You can look for something interesting) the parking lot is also very small, but you can find a place along the road and...
Read moreI can't honestly comment on the food, as I didn't eat. But the coffee was good. The style of the place was so cool. I think the most stylish coffee place I've ever visited. And you can see my reviews, I've been to a lot of places. The furniture is anitique, shabby, but comfortable. The decore is like a Timothy Oulten showroom. And they also had womens clothes for sale, and art. Not your usual garments, boho chique, style. Very tastefull indeed. Next time I go I...
