Hürdeniz Balık Restorant — Restaurant in undefined

Foreigners be careful here! We ordered 4 pieces of grilled sea bream and salad. The food was ok but nothing really special. The atmosphere is quite nice. BUT...it seems that they are cheating on foreigners with prices. When we came to the restaurant we saw a menu at the entrance and the price for sea bream was 250TRY. But after eating we got a bill with almost 2 times bigger price (450TRY for a sea bream). We asked why the price is so much higher, but the waiter told us that our seabrem was from another "special" menu and that is why it is more expensive. What was a lie. We did not see any "special" menu. And even if there would be any kind of "another" menu they must inform their clients clearly about it before ordering. Moreover the waiter brought us a vine and said that is really good vine, and the price for the bottle was 650TRY. But the exact same bottle of wine in the supermarket costs 120TRY. I understand that wine in the restaurant is more expensive. But 5x more expensive is not normal. And finally when the waiter came to collect our payment he said a total price of 2740TRY without giving us a receipt. The we asked the receipt the total amount was 2540TRY (200TRY smaller). WARNING: tourists AVOID this place! Here is why: the moment they recognize you as tourist the manager (or the owner) begins a performance. He does not give you menu and takes you to the tank of fresh caught (as he says) fish by the entrance, explaining that it is so good and fresh and the items on the menu are FARM-raised. He is very annoying and pushy and try to "sell" you more. The fish is overpriced, cooked mediocre, side is 2 leafs of salad and cheery tomato for a 50$ meal. But he will insist you should buy also appetizer and salad. We sat there for 2 hours and watched this happen for 3 more tourist companies, while turkish speaking tables just ordered from the menu. The worst is that when we asked for a check the owner came and noted like a hint: "we share tips among all the staff")) Well, we did not ask about it but immediately started to doubt if any tips ever reach the actual servers? Needless to say we did not leave a tip for the first time in Cyprus. The service and the manager (owner) is a SHAME. Prices are super high for Cyprus, we'd say we never had that little food for $70. Me and my boyfriend ordered fish set, which supposed to include starters, seafood, fish, fruits and dessert. . At the beginning we were very positive, because the starters were really tasty. Hummus and tahini were excellent. When the seafood and fish came they were ok. Not too bad, not too good, just medium. When we finished, ofcourse we waited for the desert and fruits, which were included in the price. Although there were only 3 tables left, no one came to us. After long time waiting we called the waiter. He said he has only thr fruits, but no desert. Ok so we waited at least for the fruits. The waiters saw us but no one came. So we been waiting at least one hour!!! We saw how two waiters left, so there was only one in the restaurant and he dissapeared. After one hour my boyfriend saw that they are finally making our fruit plate in the kitchen so he went to take it by himself. It was only sliced apples and pomegranates. Really...
