We had a super evening meal at Stou Sotou and were looked after by Sotos who we found very friendly and attentive. We shared a lovely salad, tahini, courgettes with egg, whole halloumi served with fig jam and sesame seeds, chicken souvlakia and chips - all really tasty. We had a carafe of wine (it's from Kolios winery and very good). The bread which Sotos brought to our table was also delicious as was the orange cake which we were brought before we paid the bill. We loved the setting and the plates/bowls/glasses were delightfully attractive. There were only a few other diners when we visited - the tavern is a little way away from the centre of Polis (just a few metres) where the restaurants were busier - we'll be back and highly recommend it. Good value. Edited April 2025 - Stou Sotou has opened again for the summer. We were delighted with everything again after popping in for our evening meal. This time we had two main courses (grilled half boneless chicken and pork chop) - both excellent. Our bill with a litre of Kolios wine and tahini to start with was a very reasonable €40. My wife said she missed the cake afterwards. Lots of customers this time which was good to see. Sotos was in the kitchen but we met his lovely sister, Kallia. Looking forward to...
Read moreThis is 100% the best place to eat in Polis. We were lucky enough to stumble upon this place on our first night, and we came back again as it was so good! We had the meze the second time we came and it was absolutely amazing. In comparison to other restaurants in the area which feel a bit lower quality and more like tourist traps, this feels like a place where people really care about and love food. I had the feeling that the waiters were really happy to see that we were enjoying our food. The waiters were brilliant too, in particular the older man. If I ever go back to Polis I will only eat in this place as I was disappointed by...
Read moreWe visited Stou Sotou tavern on a quiet Saturday night. We were immediately impressed by the cosy back yard and nice ambient. We were then greeted by the owner and host Sotiris. We opted for mezedes and, alongside our cold drinks, were treated at first with local cheese and dry meat to accompany our beer. The hot bread and village salad were fresh and tasty. Our mezedes included a variety of local flavours with a touch of Greek cuisine. All the grilled meat was juicy and appetizing, and to top it off, the oven baked lamb (kleftiko) was flavourful and succulent. We were very pleased and will visit the tavern again once we're...
