Myrafiori — Restaurant in Polis Chrysochous

This restaurant in Polis is a little gem. We had a superb meal of handmade Burger and chips. They have an extensive menu of local Cypriot dishes and Salads and also a Takeaway Menu. All food is cooked on ordering from fresh ingredients, you can watch your Souvlaki being cooked to your preference in front of your eyes. It is a family run business and all are very welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, your requests are delivered with a smile and "of course". The Burger came in a beautiful crusty bun, was enormous with gherkin, tomatoes and a beautiful relish, it was so large it was actually held together with a steak knife through. The accompanying chips were golden, fluffy and delicious and the portion very generous Breakfasts, quick bites, or just coffee and pastries, no one will be disappointed. I like this place. Clean and simple and food and drinks are reasonably priced. Great location just to sit and have a beer and watch what's happening locally. Update Visiting again in the Polis area and popped into this place for a beer and lunch, since my last update, absolutely nothing in addition to say or report. LATEST UPDATE: Sept 2024. Out and about exploring, I did plan to stop for a cool drink, but there was a MASSIVE shouting match and argument between to staff females. I heard it from way up the road. They continued screaming at each other and closed the doors !! I'm so happy I did not arrive earlier to witness this up close !! FURTHER UPDATE: Popped in for some Tea and Toast and some cold drinks. This time everything was acceptable, no shouting or fighting amongst staff, so I thought it only fair to leave another review and I've upgraded...

As a chef you go on Holiday to the greek islands expecting "tourist" food everywhere. When you go off the regular tracks and into the back streets you can find gems like this place.

We have all had souvlaki, gyros, greek salad etc so when you go to the places where that is all they serve you expect it to be half decent.

This chef knows his grill. I ordered the mixed grill so that I got a taste of everything. The chicken was succulent, the pork was tender and moist, the smoked pork was heavy in taste, smell and flavour. The chef just says "it's how I cook" but this is excellent food. He doesn't know how good he is. I had the house rosé and that was fantastic too.
