Abundant portions and extremely friendly staff! It is a fish tavern with lovely sea view, located on the beach road, sporting amazingly large "Meze" option! The staff is heartwarmingly welcoming and helpful, next to smiling and easygoing.
If you happen to order the fish meze, be prepared for the "Horn of Plenty"!!! And I mean it, we got 5 different plates with freshly caught fish in addition to whole squid, whole octopus, couple of king sized shrimps and a couple of oversized mussels and a generous bowl of salad!
The two of us managed to eat a measly third of the whole lot and brought home the rest. As a finishing touch we got treated to a complimentary whole "green walnut" homemade preserve - absolutely delicious!
The staff was understanding and trending to the needs of a gluten-, milk- and soya-free customer - kudos for that!!
And just a friendly suggestion to the owners - the meze portion is really extremely, somewhat unnecessary huge for a single person, so might be advertised as a dish for two (at least) or downsized to a half (at least) and it will still be worth the price! It would be a shame to throw out such...
Read moreThis place was an excellent find! We went there on a Sunday and were the first customers there! After being told the place was fully booked, we were sat at one of the two tables reserved for walk-ins. Our waiter was very helpful with recommendations as the fish available on the menu depends on what they have caught the night before. We ordered the fish meze (minimum 2 persons: village bread, salad, taramasalata, tahini, chips, calamari, prawns, mussels, rice, octopus, three different types of fried fish and one steamed sea bream) and a small bottle of ouzo. Despite the extremely reasonable price for 2 people, the amount of food that came could have easily have fed 3 to 4 people. We had plenty of food leftover, for which they provided us with takeaway boxes. By the time we left, the place was full, but it didn't feel crowded or loud. If you want to enjoy quality seafood and a wonderful sea view without spending a fortune, this is the place! We will definitely be going back - this time, with a...
Read moreJust don’t go there! I have been going to this restaurant for a number of years now and it has been serving decent food but recently it seems that the restaurant has changed ownership to a foreign owner. The issue is all about the food and cutting corners with the food: the most important thing about eating fish is the freshness of the fish and the quality of the oil used in frying; the management of this restaurant seems to be using a new/old trick to save money which is to mix fresh fish with old (and maybe very old and toxic) fish to save money; some of the fish I just had to eject back out of my mouth because it tasted so bad. Also, the overall foul smell suggest they are using low quality oil or maybe yesterday’s oil (high quality frying oil is expensive these days). Bottom line I had an upset stomach and I ended up burping foul tastes and smells for...
