Rybářská bašta — Restaurant in Cheb District

What a horrible experience! Upon arrival, the waiter informed us that the wait time for the main course was 40 minutes. The restaurant didn't seem full, plus the waiter was constantly chatting with his probably friends at the next table - but so be it, we took the longer wait in stride. Still, we were surprised that we waited 45 mimutes for an appetizer of pate as well. When we asked for apple juice for the kids, we were disappointed that they only had orange juice. The kids ordered an ice cream sundae and got hot raspberries with ice cream instead. The biggest disappointment was the goat cheese salad - an unflavored leaf salad drizzled with an almost inedible ridiculously hot dressing. My wife had the salad as a suitable meal when breastfeeding, but we were very wrong about that... At the end, the waiter told us without prior warning that we couldn't pay by card. We later found out that outside, this information is sometimes written on a light board outside the entrance, but it alternates with photos of the dishes and the menu, so we were just unlucky not to see it when we arrived... So we ended a very unpleasant two-hour stay (during which we only managed to get pate, hot raspberries and salad) with a sprint to the ATM. Maybe we were just unlucky, but based on our experience we highly do not recommend...

Not sure what happened here but in spite of overall rather positive reviews below, we were quite disappointed with this place. The place itself seems to be a bit shabby and as having its best times long in the past. The service was extremely slow, we were waiting long for the menu first, then food itself and finally, when we wanted to pay, it took ~20 mins. At that time, all other tables were served already with their meals while next to us, another pair was waiting to pay even longer than us. Other than that, the personnel was very professional and polite, just failed to apologize for letting us wait. Finally, the food…the biggest disappointment, the fish had no taste, maybe lost it on the extreme long way from the kitchen. Only the potato side dishes tasted as you would expect, but sadly, we came to enjoy the ‘renowned’ fish menu. Not worth the effort to book the place (did not respond for almost a week) and definitely not our...

I přes zjištění, jaké tu jsou i na místní proněmecké poměry dle mého názoru přemrštěné ceny, se nám při lehkém letním dešti nikam dál nechtělo, tak jsme se tam usadili, že si přecijnenom tu večeři tady dáme.

Ovšem poté, co obsluha zjistila, že nejsme německy hovořící, nás začala nepříjemně kysele odbývat, frázemi typu "teď ne", "čekejte chvíli", takže jsme si to s tím jídlem během asi čtvrthodiny našeho soustavného obtěžování obsluhy rozmyseli. Koneckonců bychom se možná jídla nedočkali.

Mimochodem, při našem příchodu můj první dotaz směřovaný na obsluhu zněl, zda vedou čepované, což slečnu servírku příliš nenavnadilo, pravděpodobně mylně vytušila, že sem jdeme jen na jedno bez stravy. Skutečně to tedy dopadlo, jak obsluha předpověděla zpočátku, bohužel nikoliv z naší viny. Konečná útrata: světlej Budvar z lahváče bez rozlití do sklenice do pětky a černej Budvar z lahve do trojky (asi došly půllitry). Suma sumarum, CZK 100 s dyškrécí.

Zdá se, že koronakrize způsobila propad koruny a je teď efektivnější kasírovat západní měnu a Čechy platící a smrdící korunou odstavit na druhou kolej.

Koneckonců, tušíte, jaká byla odezva od obsluhy na rozloučení? Ani bú. Tohle fakt nedoporučuju, ve FL jsou desítky lepších podniků. Třeba takový Modrý Elephant u hlavní zastávky, teda ne, že bych něco naznačoval.

A pokud sem i přesto půjdete, snažte se prosím komunikovat jazykem našich sousedů a nezkoušejte poptávat před jídlem...
