This is one of those down to earth hole-in-the-wall family restaurants that will give you some of the best food of your life.

Caution: It kind of looks closed at night from the outside, even when it’s open. Walk right up to the door, ignore the dark windows, and enjoy!

We had the undhiyu and paneer butter masala as mains and they were both amazing.

It was my first time having undhiyu and, if you haven’t had it yet, you have to get it. It was a complex dish with a variety of flavors and the vegetables and falafel-like fenugreek dumplings were well-prepared, so each element kept its distinct flavor within the dish. This made every bite a bit different. I literally put my fork down and instinctively said “mmm” multiple times between bites.

My partner’s paneer butter masala was also delicious. It had a light airiness to it that makes it stand out among other iterations of the dish we’ve had at different restaurants. She very much enjoyed it with the roti phulka, but I can’t go into too much detail, because she only let me steal one bite.

The staff was so kind, and not in an artificial way. These are people who care a lot about their food, are good at making it, are (rightly) proud of what they do, and want to share it with you. I’m not the kind of guest that expects servers to chat with me, but when the man who helped us talked about the food and the region of India it’s from, it was incredibly genuine and interesting. My partner in particular enjoyed how he described the flavors of the dishes we didn’t know. She’s less adventurous an eater as I am, so she found this both engaging and very helpful.

The atmosphere was kind and comforting. We felt cared for like we would at a good friend’s house and we left satisfied with full, warm bellies. Too full, unfortunately, to try one of the many desserts we haven’t seen before....

My visit to Aahar Restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. As someone who appreciates authentic flavors, I can confidently say that Aahar delivers some of the most delicious, soul-satisfying Gujarati food I have ever tasted outside of India.

From the moment I walked in, the warmth and hospitality of the owner made me feel instantly at home. You can tell they are incredibly passionate about their food and culture, and that genuine love shines through every dish.

The highlight of my experience was their special Maharaja Thali—a grand platter featuring a variety of carefully crafted dishes. Each bite was a journey through Gujarat: from the perfectly spiced vegetables to the soft, fluffy puris and comforting dals. Every component was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully balanced. It’s the kind of meal that stays with you long after you’ve finished eating.

Aahar isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Gujarati cuisine and hospitality. Whether you’re familiar with these flavors or trying them for the first time, Aahar is a must-visit when you’re in Prague.

This was my first visit to this incredible restaurant, and I must say it far exceeded all expectations! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and exceptional hospitality. The owner, Mr. Gaurav, was incredibly kind and attentive, taking the time to explain each dish in detail and recommending the best options from the menu. His passion for authentic cuisine truly shines through in every aspect of the dining experience.

What makes this place truly unique is that it’s the first and only Indian vegetarian restaurant in the Prague, and the food is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. The flavors are authentic, bold, and simply out of this world. Each dish is crafted with such care that it feels like a celebration of Indian culinary heritage.

From the impeccable service to the cozy ambiance and, of course, the extraordinary food, everything here deserves a perfect 5/5. I am already looking forward to my next visit and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic, unforgettable dining experience. This...
