EDIT 06/06: I had to change to 5 stars. I just cannot stop coming to this place. That has to mean something. Don't let the indoor simple design fool you. This is a top notch place. Will come again and again. We even buy vouchers and give them out to friends to encourage them to try the restaurant!

EDIT 25/04: Waiters now speak English, I'm learning Czech but that's a nice thing now for people not knowing a word of Czech. All menus are in English too. I found everything being perfect except for the waiters not knowing English. That'd be the 5th star.

Pros:

-quiet location -nice idea of the family pictures on display all over the place -beautiful menus -incredible variety of whiskeys and liquors -beautiful menu and rich in options -Michelin star -excellent customer service, smiling all the way -finally some appropriate music. Jazz music instead of commercial bests you hear in many pubs and restaurants in the city center

Cons:

-the view is limited by other nearby buildings, but what can you do about that -waiters that served us didn't speak English. But perhaps I should learn Czech?

Conclusion:

Loved it, we'll be returning for dinner soon!...

Totally enjoy the whole meal! Definitely worth the visit after you taste it (though it might be a little bit far away from the city centre)!

We ordered a 4-course meal, every dish surprises me with the lovely taste!

Game pâté goes well with the pear marinated in red wine and elderberry glazé. They are just like meant to be together!

Seafood borscht is very rich with lots of seafood in! It’s like eating tomatoes.

Pike-perch is just sooooo smooth. Crispy at the outer layer and soft in the middle. So fresh! Wrapped with the Parma ham just spices up the taste and enhance the layer. Texture of risotto is perfect! Not too soft or hard! A bit sour taste of zucchini just refreshes the heaviness of risotto! Nice!

The quail is just right! The stuffing is unexpectedly matched! The glazed beet root goes well with the parsnip! Nice!

A great dinner ended with a nice dessert! Not too sweet is always my choice! Great smooth créme brûlée!

100% revisit when I come to...

Surprise, surprise - this awesome foodie's paradise is on the hill indeed. Make sure to take a taxi there - or be ready to work out for your dish very hard.

However, once you get there... Your taste buds will be rewarded with delicious meals. I had Provencal fish soup with saffron aioli and garlic baguette, their signature "on the hill" beef tartar and sorbet with prosecco.

The soup was very strong in flavour. The flavour exploded in my mouth like fireworks. I'd never imagine you could put so much flavour into fish broth.

Beef tartar was gentle and sophisticated. I consider beef tartar a "pub meal" with garlic fried bread - guys On the hill however created something divine and worth every penny. Fries and salad were great companions. This cow didn't die for nothing.

In a nutshell, this venue serves well balanced food. It's not a trendy hipster place copying Scandinavian trends - it's a safe harbour of...

Na Kopci (CZE, English below) • Útulné a velice příjemné prostředí malé restaurace. Jednoduché (do počtu jídel) menu, ale každé jidlo je unikátní. Velký výběr nápojů, jak alkoholických, tak nealko. Zkušená a vstřícná obsluha. Za celou skupinu 5ti dospělých lidí a 1 dítěte (1x 5 chodů, 2x 4 chody, 2x hlavní jídla, 1x dětské jidlo a několik predkrkmu s pitím) jsme platili 5,000 CZK (tehdy cca $230). • Jídlo bylo vynikající. Vyzkoušeli jsme všech 6 predkrkmu, z nich bych určitě doporučil hlavně foie gras a chobotnicky/scallops. Hlavní chody halibut a srnčí s kroketami byly asi nejlepší kousky. (ENG, česky nahoře) • Pleasant and inviting atmosphere in a small setting. Simple (as far as number of dishes) menu, but each is unique. Large selection of both non- and alcoholic drinks. Experienced and polite servers. Fantastic meals, prices I'd say below Prague average for the quality. • The restaurant is well set up, so we didn't have to rub elbows with people and had plenty of our own room. The menu is simple as far as number of dishes, but each dish has something to offer and is unique in its own way both in presentation and taste. I would recommend the 5 course meal, even though it's 950 CZK, it is the best way to try as many things as possible thanks to the smaller portions. For the whole group of 5 adults and one child (1x 5-course, 2x 4-course, 2 main courses, 1 kid meal and many appetizers with drinks) we paid 5000 CZK (~ then about $230). • Food was amazing. We tried all 6 appetizers, from those the best was definitely the the foie gras and the scallops. Main courses halibut and deer with croquettes was probably the best dishes. The least recommended in my opinion would be the tartar steak. It wasn't bad, just wasn't really unique and tad bland. I should definitely also mention the truffle chestnut cappuccino - a small cup packing a punch if an intense flavor, a sweet-salty one, which was probably my favorite of the day. It was the third course, then the deer and lastly a dessert - apple pie and mascarpone.

Nice food. No "big mistakes", but also nothing exceptional except the lamb, which was excellent. Beef tartare - good, but not amazing Frog legs - very good Foie gras - not great. No flavor really, appart from the jam served with foie gras. Expected more and had many better versions. Also, pairing with sweet wine was just wrong for me (sweet wine over very sweet jam... why?) Lamb was exceptionaly good. Perfectly cooked. Sweet potato, mint leaves... very, very nice. Creme brule with mango - good. Wine pairing was ok except that sweet wine with fole gras. Very nice white vines, and ok red wine although I would probably choose different wine with lamb, but thats only my opinion and taste. Service was fine, but a bit too quick because the waitress was very busy. I couldnt catch whats on the plate without reading the menu :) Overall not amazing, but not bad either. We enjoyed it :)
