A Mixed Experience at Prague Hotel

My recent one-night stay at a hotel in Prague left me with mixed feelings. Situated in a convenient location with easy access to attractions, the hotel offered a comfortable accommodation experience overall.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly staff who efficiently checked me in and provided all necessary information about the facilities. The room itself was clean, spacious, and well-appointed, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the city.

However, one aspect of the experience left much to be desired. As I returned to the hotel late at night, I found myself locked out, as the reception was closed and the doors were securely shut. This lack of 24-hour reception service was a significant inconvenience, especially for travelers arriving late or needing assistance during the night.

While I understand that smaller hotels may not always have round-the-clock staff available, it's a basic expectation for any accommodation establishment to ensure guests can access the premises at any hour. This issue significantly detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay.

Despite this drawback, I would still consider staying at this hotel again, but I would urge management to consider implementing measures to address the accessibility issue during non-reception hours. With improved service in this area, the hotel could truly excel and provide a more seamless experience for all guests.

In summary, while my stay at the Prague hotel had its ups and downs, the comfortable room and convenient location balanced out the inconvenience of the locked doors late at night. With a few adjustments, this hotel has the potential to offer a truly outstanding guest experience.

I stayed here for about a week while seeking some peace, quiet, and solitude and a break from the center of Prague. Honestly, I grew quite fond of this place. It’s not some 5 star Hilton, but it’s undeniably cozy and pleasant in its own unorthodox but appealing way. It’s in a location that I can only describe as bordering between suburban and small town. It doesn’t feel like some sanitized, sterilized chain hotel, it feels homely, familiar, and human, even if it is rather off the grid. It’s a bit antiquated, full of old, decorative artifacts, but it sort of adds to the charm among other things, such as a cat that roams freely through the hallways and the adjacent restaurant. The staff were generally quite pleasant. Sometimes, it could be a bit noisy due to the presence of nearby bars and the occasional group of loud guests, but other than that, I found the place quite relaxing. Für den angebotenen Preis geht das Hotel in Ordnung. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, die Konversation in englischer Sprache am Empfang war gut möglich.

Wir hatten zwei Zimmer (einmal Pension, einmal Hotel), die sich jedoch nicht sonderlich unterschieden haben.

Etwas enttäuscht war ich bei meinem Zimmer darüber, dass es als Raucherzimmer bestätigt wurde, vor Ort mir jedoch untersagt wurde, dort zu rauchen. Zum Glück gibt es eine überdachte Raucherterrasse, die bei dem Wetter eine gute Alternative bot.

Nicht so gut gefiel mir in meinem Zimmer der üble Geruch aus dem Waschbeckenabfluss (eine Mischung aus modrig und verwest). Mein Freund hatte dieses Problem in seinem Zimmer (nebeneinander) nicht.

Die Zimmerreinigung klappte mal mehr mal weniger gut. Das Duschgel in zwei kleinen Briefchen wurde nach Gebrauch nicht ersetzt.

Ansonsten fand ich die Zimmer sehr gut für den Preis. Es gibt einen Fernseher (leider kein Programm in deutscher Sprache), ein separates Bad/WC im Zimmer, das Zimmer war gut schallgeschützt. Ein Deckenventilator wie auch viele Steckdosen und Lichtquellen sind vorhanden.

Das zugehörige Restaurant gefiel uns auch recht gut. Am Ankunftstag wurde uns trotz schließender Küche freundlicherweise noch ein warmes improvisiertes Essen serviert (vielen Dank!). Auch die Speisen an den anderen Abenden waren akzeptabel bis gut - auch der Preis stimmt (für unsere Verhältnisse).

Etwas schade fand ich, dass es die Speisekarte (umfasst nur zwei Seiten!) nicht auch in englischer Sprache verfügbar war und bei Rückfragen manchmal kapituliert wurde. Mit Hilfe vom Microsoft Translator konnten wir die Karte in großen Teilen dann selbst übersetzen.

Freundlich und nett war das Personal trotzdem.

Gut gefallen hat mir auch der Buchungsprozess über die Website. Am Ende bekommt man neben der E-Mail auch ein PDF-Dokument, wo viele nützliche Infos zusammengefasst sind (Anreise, Zeiten, usw.) und man sich direkt einchecken kann und auch Änderungen vornehmen kann.
