Baryl — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

Sad experience. Not coming back.

We had the brunch "Morgen Barylen", and for the vegan option they will just remove the egg (protein) and literally just replace it with few pickled red onion and a (?). Every vegan knows that there's nothing worse than when the vegan option is just "removing" the non-vegan protein element without replacing it with something similar, while it still being the same price.

When we got the plate, there was egg on it anyway. We said we ordered the vegans option and they came back with the plate without the egg. I asked if they just removed the egg from the same sandwich and they said yes. But as a place branding themselves with vegan options they should know that vegans (anti-exploitation of animals) obviously won't enjoy a sandwich that previously had an egg on it. It's very unprofessional.

The plate was quite boring and not at all worth 179 kroner. It felt ridiculous.

What felt even more ridiculous was their drink option called "Double trouble" where you can try two lemonades. The lemonades tasted boring, artificial, too acidic and thin and was supposed to be different, (one elderflower, the other a Raspberry) but they literally had the excact same red color. The cup reminded me of a plastic cup you get in a sticky cheap bar or in an childrens amusement park.

In addition, the music was way too loud and seemed to be for the people working there, not for the customers.

All in all, just any another "concept" cafe that offers overpriced, boring, but relatively aesthetically looking humus and avocado toast and some olives and slices of orange the side.

They charge extra for plant milk. Come on, we're in 2024. You can do better.

Can't recommend and won't be...

worst service in Copenhagen . We try to go to his place two weeks ago, it was full even if a lot of table were empty. It would have been nice to just explain that you take bookings and people have the table for 2h, so at least we could have understand. Came back yesterday sunday with a booking this time, when i came in and walk towards the bar i said hello with a smile to your waitress who just ignore me. Greta start.. Many tables were still dirty with empty plates. Then we got our table she has drop the menu on the table, after waiting 15min, i stood up and went to ask if she would take the order or if we have to go at the bar .... Would make sense to talk to your client no ? So i do the order at the bar with the same waitress that ignore me, i still try to be nice but i have never seen such an unwelcome and rude person.

Then she comes with our drink and literally trough the cutlery on the table. With my father in law and my boyfriend we really got shocked by her behavior. Nobody came to clean our plates when we finished to eat, so how can you sell dessert ? My father in law paid and tried to help her while she was packing drinks for another client and she roll her eyes at him.... The food was perfect for instagram, full of color but not really full of taste. The coffee was good, orange juice as well and the avocado toast. WE will never come back and we will not recommend it. Service it's the most important for a restaurant. Just a smile and small information is always nice and make all the difference. Hope you will take note of this and train...

Nothing exceptional. I have tried the morning plate and I definitely had many brunch better than that and even slightly cheaper. The soft boiled egg didn’t have a running egg yolk as it’s shown in their webpage. They added Feldsalat everywhere in plate with salty olive which the taste doesn’t fit with any of the others in a plate. It surely serves only as a plate filler. The Salomon was presented on a cracker which is mostly served like this as a appetizer for dinner not breakfast! The salmon taste got also quite dominated by a mayonnaise-like sauce on the top! The skyr bowl was one of the most boring skyr bowl I ever had. Very low-sugar granola with sauer skyr and with a good amount of tasteless wipe cream! You can guess the final taste better than me ;)

Eventhough the service was good I would not go back and would not come back to Baryl. There are so many nice brunch places...
