UPDATE: Lupa replied to this first rating, see below. And we talked via email and they were very sweet. We decided to give it an other shot and went again for Brunch. The girl who served as was an angel, she took well care of the plant (see below) and of us. I am happy to update from 3 to 4 stars. Thank you for taking our complaint serious, this is good customer care. AND the brunch food was just delicious, well done!

Honestly a bit disappointed. After being to Souls and Ark a couple of times our hopes to meet a new cool place were high. The food was good. The wine was ok, no wow moments in the wine pairing. The service was friendly and knowledgeable but very slow. The water on our table was often empty and the gaps in between the courses (we had the set menu) were pretty long. We reserved a birthday table and I know they have a little flag for that, which was missing. The real disappointment started when we left the place, in the car I noticed they overcharged us by 85kr and I wrote them an email right away. And yes it is our fault not checking it, but I do not expect the money back, but at least an answer with an apology and maybe the suggestion to give us that double charged drink on the house the next time we come. With a bill of more than 4,500kr I expect that type of customer service. Further, we forgot one of the birthday presents. I also wrote them an email about it, to please save it so we can pick it up the next day, still no answer 3 days later. I waited until today to write this review, as I wanted to give them the chance to come back to me... I am vegan and would love to support a vegan place, but the service, wine and the customer service need to step up their game if they want to play along the sister...

Cozy place with delicious food and great service. Every single dish we tried as bursting with flavor, beautifully plated, and overall a pleasure to eat. I really enjoyed their “pasta” dish and the dessert. The extra mushroom course was not worth it in my opinion and I would not recommend it.

However, despite a positive food experience could not give Lupa five stars because I left hungry and disappointed. The meal did not build up as one went from a course to the next. That is, there was no dish that felt like a “main” but rather the entire meal felt like small appetizers and then you got a dessert. I love tasting menu experiences but this one felt like it was missing something. None of the dishes featured any protein or something (other than bread) that would really satisfy, and portions were small considering it was only 5 (and realistically 4 because some dishes came together and were shared) courses. Given the fact that the only option is the five course menu, It was especially frustrating to feel like all these delicious small dishes built up my expectations of a sumptuous main and I was left disappointed. Dessert, at least, was delicious and likely my favorite dish.

Overall, I would not return and cannot fully recommend stopping by. For the price tag you can eat...

We spent our 4th wedding anniversary at Bistro Lupa

Great place, fine dining.

The concept is a prepared meal of 5 courses which can be paired with 3-4 glasses of wine, or just w/e you decide to have, if you don't want the prepared wine pairing. Non alcoholic drinks are available as well. So is coffee and cocktails.

The cuisine is sublime. Much like the food on Restaurant Ark, you can feel, smell, see and taste the work that has gone into every dish.

I highly recommend the add-on dish "blue oyster mushrooms", they are amazing.

The staff is beyond great, friendly, helpful, well taught. They all share the same vibe and vision for vegan food and sustainability.

We had the 5 meal course with 3 wine pairings, along with added blue oyster mushrooms and coffee afterwards.

Staff brought us an on the house extra desert for celebrating our anniversary, so thoughtful of them.

The only slightly negative thing I can say about this place, is the chairs being a tad too low seated for me, I'm 194cm tall. And the music was a bit too loud, which we probably could have had them tune, had we just asked. The atmosphere is great for a casual place, the food vibes of finer dining, almost Ark like, but the Bistros settings makes it more casual, which is not a bad...

We celebrated New Year's Eve at Bistro Lupa. We had a lovely evening, but unfortunately, the food was a bit disappointing. The evening started with a cognac drink – too strong and not to everyone's liking. It would have been nice to have a glass of champagne instead. The snacks were superb. The potato starter was quite bland, mostly tasting like raw potatoes and dill oil. The milk bread was delicious, the beet tartare was mediocre, and we didn't bother finishing the celery-seaweed pasta. The fried cauliflower was tasty, potato croquettes were good, but the red cabbage was too tough to eat. The mushrooms were also a letdown – grilled too little and more of a "blop" than anything else. The mushrooms were something we were looking forward to the most. The dessert was fine. Regarding the petit fours: 2/3 were inedible. The small chocolate biscuit had no flavor, the gel was imbalanced with too much citric acid, and the pistachio ball tasted like velour pants. We've dined at Ark, Beyla, and Bistro Lupa before, and unfortunately, Bistro Lupa has been the most disappointing among the Ark Collections restaurants. We might not return but will stick to Ark or Veve, the vegan fine dining restaurants that consistently meet our expectations.
