DFDS - Oslo Copenhagen (Pearl Seaways) 5.January-6.January- 2018 We, as a family of three, uses DFDS-CPH/Oslo about three to four times a year. Most of the time with a balcony cabin. This time we had the the Owner Suite with a private outdoor area and during the summer period, also spa. The service was as usual very good, informative and fast. This time we took the chance on the buffet restaurant, 7 Seas. The food was, at the best, mediocre, service was a bit so, so; friendly, but a bit overdone. We had ordered tabels by the windows, but had to point this out for the staff when we arrived after they at first tried to put us on another table. The tables were nice, but another table for two were also VERY close seated, so it was impossible to have a private conversation, since the two other passangers were seated so close. The lounge area is not at all the same quality as the other ship,Crown Seaways and Pearl Seaways only has a couple of real high quality cabins compared. The children play area is VERY reduced compared to other times of travel, our kid was very disappointed, wonder why they have chosen to remove this, especially during winter time, were there are less to do at the ship? Breakfast was delivered at the room in due time, was nice, but the small reserved breakfast area is much better if you book any of the Premium Class cabins. We will travel again, but will: Make sure to book at the Crown Seaways Ask beforehand if there is a better area for the kids. Book at the Marco Polo restaurant (tried the Steak House before a couple of times, not impressed) Make sure to check your receipts when you had food/drinks ordered, have had a couple of times where they charged more on the bill. If you want the Premium cabins, I would recommend the Balcony Suites on the Crown Seaways, here you have access to a very nice lounge at the same proximity. The Owners Suite at Pearl Seaways would be a nice alternative during the summer time, for a small family or a couple.

The staff at the information desk are very helpful at all times, I would though, recommend DFDS to get a new system for keys, since the punch paper cards have a tendency to stop working after light use or near a...

Would have given 5 whole stars if it wasn’t for being lied to regarding our dinner reservation (originally ordered at 5pm online upon making the booking) and given an awful Commodore de Luxe Room. Upon check in the lady at the check in saw us with a little child. In stead of thinking of what mess she would create by giving us Connecting Room (with someone we do not know), she did it anyway. Let me put it this way - there is 0 insulation between two connecting rooms - if the person in the other room farts - we do hear it. I tried to change our room to one without a connecting door to a neighbor, but the reception said this class rooms were fully booked. Then I befriended a lady from the crew who told me there were barely 350 guests on the ship while the max capacity is 1700. Check in - 0 stars. Reception - 1. Make sure you explicitly ask for a non-connecting room upon check in or else your life inside your super expensive Commodore de Luxe cabin will be pretty miserable. Staff are generally helpful and we were able to come on board 2h before sailing. Nice dinner buffet with plenty of options. There is a pretty nice kids club and a swimming pool with a jacuzzi in their...

I would not even give this DFDS Seaways ferry service even one star. Unless you have planned and booked well in advance, the price will change minute to minute. Their Website is a catastrophe and impossible to use. After a week of trying to book an overnight ferry to Oslo, we were finally able to complete the form with our passport and credit card information, but again the site crashed, before we could get a confirmation number. When we tried again the price had increased by 200 Euro. Finally we called. We explained that we had tried to repeatedly to book and gave the range of prices we had been quoted, we were prepared to pay the price we had been quoted the day before, but were told that that price was no longer available and the price had more than doubled. Eventually, we were so frustrated that we gave up and so furious that we would never recommend this company to anyone, nor give them any of our money. If they run their boats, like they run their business I would not want to...

Fantastic option to get from Copenhagen to oslo. We paid 84 pounds Stirling for a double bed cabin inside (no window). We arrived at the boat at 1pm for a 4.30 departure. This was a bit too early - you could arrive about an hour before. Checking in was quick and easy. The room is small but comfortable, it has an en-suite. The only downside of the room was how hot it got at night, we struggled to sleep as the room was very hot. I was surprised at how modern the ship was. The restaurants on board are nice (Expensive) they have a buffet restaurant, espresso house, steakhouse and an Italian restaurant. The Italian restaurant had gluten free pizza (Pizza ranged from 100-145 DK). A bottle of beer cost about 45 DK and glass of wine was 60-100 DK. The boat had beautiful views coming into Oslo. We arrived in Oslo at 9.45 and managed to get into the city centre for 10.30am - you can walk from the terminal it took about 20 minutes. Would recommend and would take this mode of transport again.
