I was on holiday here from New York, and just happened upon this restaurant as I was walking around on my first few hours in Copenhagen. My hotel was nearby, and I was enjoying the more residential area I was staying in. Needless to say, I tried this on a whim, and was so taken with how phenomenal it was. I had the tuna poke bowl, miso soup, and tea. ....and then needed to return again after a few days because I couldn't get enough! The server (same woman both times) was lovely as well, and the whole space is really well designed. Der er Ăžjeblikke, hvor man bare mĂ„ have sushi. Ikke gourmet, ikke storslĂ„et, bare den ĂŠrlige fornemmelse af ris, fisk og ro. Og nĂ„r man befinder sig ved Amager Strandvej, er mulighederne mange â men her er en af dem, hvor man faktisk fĂ„r god valuta for pengene.
For 188 kroner kan man spise sig mĂŠt og tilfreds i deres frokostmenu â og det kan man roligt gĂžre. Man fĂ„r udleveret en iPad, og sĂ„ begynder det lille moderne eventyr: tryk, vĂŠlg, bestil, og sĂ„ kommer smĂ„ fade og tallerkener flyvende til bordet, som var man i et digitalt teselskab.
Jeg begyndte med et par sticks, nogle ebi-fritterede rejer, smÄ forÄrsruller . Havde det vÊret hele oplevelsen, var karakteren ikke blevet hÞj. Men det var heldigvis kun opvarmningen.
For mig begynder sushiens poesi fĂžrst, nĂ„r det bliver enkelt. Helt enkelt. Nigiri â ris, fisk, intet andet. Helst uden pynt, mayonnaise og pyntesyge. Her var udvalget ikke stort, men det var solidt. Havde vi befundet os i Japan, ville jeg nok have Ăžnsket mig lidt hvid fisk, mĂ„ske blĂŠksprutte eller kammusling. Men her stod valget mellem tun, reje og laks â og de gjorde det, de skulle.
Den lette varme fra risen, kulden fra fisken, balancen mellem de to â det var prĂŠcist, som det skal vĂŠre. Det er dĂ©r, sushiens sjĂŠl bor.
Jeg gik derfra mĂŠt, tilfreds og med en stille fornemmelse af at have fĂ„et, hvad jeg kom efter. Ikke en rejse til Tokyo â men et velfungerende stop pĂ„ vejen derhen. Jeg...
