Kinda a bit hidden place on Amager right next to a gym there is a cosy organic brunch/bakery place. We came around 09:00 which for our luck couldn't be at a better time because right after people was flooding in, if it wasn't because it rained it wouldn't be a problem to seat everyone, because outdoor seating is also available. I asked one of the waiter about if it is normal to be this busy and she said "it can be more hectic than this". Brunch opens at 09: but I suggest that you come a bit earlier so you are sure you can get a table. They're are pretty huge on Instagram (21K followers) so that's probably why the place was packed with tourists and foreign students when we were there but don't worry they have 3 stores located in Copenhagen. A quick google will get you there.
The brunch seems really popular and the concept is 5-7 different courses and you can probably order less or more if that's how you feel. I took the 5 course brunch but I should have taken 7 courses. 5 is enough don't get me wrong I just have a good appetite. The food was very good, tasty and well cooked, the scramble eggs was perfect! Staff on the floor was great, full of smiles even though it was packed, they seemed well prepared, welcoming and very service minded. I ordered a cappuccino with less milk than normal and without knowing the waiter let me know that if I thought it was too milky they would make me a new one... I tasted the coffee and it was too milky and as she promised she came back with a new one that was just the way I wanted it.
If you get the chance and are up for a little distance then...
Read moreFirst the great: The brunch methodology of choose-5 or -7 is awesome. The food was terrific. The choices creative. The food was delivered very quickly.
The kind-of-annoying: We arrived at the off-peak hour of 2:45pm. There was a kiosk outside the front door with a sign that says “Wait here for a table.” So we stood there, and stood, and stood. The staff inside could see us standing, but continued to chat amongst themselves instead of coming out to assist. We noted all of the empty tables (at least two open inside, and most of the benches outside were vacant), so finally went in to ask about being sat. The person at the front looked at us with confusion, and explained that we take an order sheet, find a table, then submit and pay for the order at the register. We pointed out the large sign telling us to wait, and she only shrugged. “You’ve never been here before?” She asked. Like we should have known to ignore the sign and come in to order.
Considering this was a Sunday, just over an hour before they stopped serving brunch, the following can be forgiven: they were out of a whole bunch of things we’d hoped to try: All the lemonades, the matcha, the Nutella twist, the croissants (both almond and regular).
Having the staff be more aware that there will be first-time customers would be nice. But now that we understand the process, we will...
Read moreLove the concept of creating your own brunch. Choose 5 or 7 plates from the menu. The food was tasty and the bread and pastries looked delish! But why 3 stars? Well, I expect when you take the effort to make a reservation, you actually get a nice spot, because you actually took the time to call and make a reservation based on a celebration, but in this place in stead of a good spot, they gave us the worst possible spot by the door and next to the cash register :-/ while there were better spots available. We complaint and got a new place to sit, but the new place was not cleaned and despite that waiters passed by us several times, they did not see the dirty dishes pulled up in the middle of the table. After several waiters passing by without cleaning and taking the dishes with them, we called them out and only then they took the dirty dishes. After that we waited for a bit and no one came to give us a menu, so we have to get it our selves. Unfortunately, the place was lacking better service staff, but the...
