Cozy little place with nice atmosphere, a pleasant and accommodating chef/hostess that I assume is also the owner. Nicely presented food and good taste. On the surface it should be 5 stars, but I was leaning more towards 3. Giving a 4 as a compromise as we truly enjoyed the above aspects of our visit. So what's the bad part? Well the price point is just way off for what you get. The food while good and well presented, is very simple and doesn't require a lot of cooking. It's mostly assembly on a plate. This makes sense and is smart considering they don't really have a warm food kitchen, more of a bar desk with a bit of equipment. It's commendable what they can make in such a limited space, but it does mean you have limited options of dish complexity. The portions are also quite small, especially when you consider the plate largely consists of lettuce and rice/rice noodles. We left hungry enough to go for another meal, after spending 600DKK for two adults. This is significantly more than you would spend at similar restaurants for a lot more food and the same quality. I'm happy Lyngby has this spot now, it's a great addition and necessary between the myriad of identical pizza, burger and kebab shops. I truly wish the owner success and longevity, and hope they find a reasonable functioning middle ground...
Read moreLe Chanson in Lyngby is a cozy and welcoming Vietnamese café run by a very kind and talented young chef. The atmosphere is warm and full of plants, with the option to sit outside in the sun. The menu has five dishes, all of which can be made vegan.
As a vegan who eats heart-healthy, I was so impressed. I’ve been there twice in two days – once for the Phở Chay and once for the papaya salad. Both dishes were low in oil and salt, very fresh, and absolutely delicious. I also had the kumquat coconut drink both times – light, not too sweet, and really refreshing.
Everything from the food to the service and vibe gets 5 out of 5 from me. A little gem in Lyngby I’ll definitely keep...
Read moreWe arrived 18:10 and ordered 2 servings of wontons + 3 main courses. The wontons came out after 15 minutes, but we had to wait another 1 hour and 15 minutes for our main courses. This is simply too long to wait. They take guests and do take away orders at the same time. The price of 165-195 for a small main course is simply way too high when you have to wait 1 h 15 m for it. They didn't even comment the waiting time and served the food like it wasn't an issue. Taste and quality of food was quite good as expected, but nothing unique. It is simple vietnamese food. Not haute...
