This was a very good restaurant that with a few tweaks could be really great. We just happened upon this restaurant while waiting on our train transfer from Vajle to Copenhagen after a wonderful day at Legohouse. The restaurant itself is beautiful and cozy in a wonderful building. Lots of fun, quirky decor set out all around. Really a good feel for the Mexican themed environment. We ordered combination fajitas and margaritas. The margaritas were fantastic, the fajitas were just okay. Truly authentic fajitas are sliced in strips, not in large chunks and though the serving was large, the chunks of meat were too large, and also the veggies that usually come with the fajitas are very simple strips of onions, and red and green paprika, that's it. Simple and tasty. Although broccoli, cauliflower and carrots are heathy and tasty, they just don't go with authentic Mexican fajitas. One other thing that could be done better was taking our empty margaritas glasses as we finished and ordered a new round. We had several empties on our table and had to maneuver around them. Over all, the restaurant is lovely, the food was good, the staff was very pleasant and friendly, the atmosphere was fun and lively. We would definitely return if...
Read moreInauthentic My visit to Tortilla Flats Mexicano was a mixed bag. On one hand, the staff members were commendable - friendly, attentive and professional. They made the dining experience pleasant, even in the face of disappointing food.
Speaking of the food, it wasn't what I was expecting from a restaurant labeled as 'Mexicano'. The dishes served here are more akin to Denmark's take on Mexican cuisine than authentic Mexican fare. While I appreciate local takes on international cuisines, it's important to note that authenticity is lacking here.
A key example is their Enchiladas, which surprisingly featured carrots, a far cry from the traditional recipes I'm familiar with. The salsa, too, was a letdown, bearing a closer resemblance to marinara sauce than the spicy, tangy taste that salsa is known for.
The Margaritas were acceptable but didn't quite hit the mark. They were okay, but nothing exceptional or worth raving about.
In conclusion, Tortilla Flats Mexicano might appeal to those looking for a distinctly Danish twist to Mexican cuisine. However, if you are seeking a more authentic Mexican dining experience, you may find the offerings here a bit...
Read moreI rated one of five since the quality has taken a very very deep dive. We placed a big order for takeout, and complained about what we were given, we received apologies and a free meal the next day. This would be great if they didnt serve the exact same mess the next day, when asking about whether the quality and portion size varied for take out we were asured it did not. Well if thats the case im sorry to say that after 10 years of comming here i will not be comming back. Lying about quality and delivering soggy yet half burned food is just not okay for the price this place charges. Would recommend that you stay away untill there is a change in whatever is causing these issues whether that is the owner of the kitchen i have no way of knowing, but if you do order food, expect a tiny pancake overloaded with salad making everything a soggy mess. I will upload pictures of the...
