This was my worst dinner ever. The hotel is amazing but this restaurant is horrendous. We went there and ordered and then continued to wait an hour and a half only to find our food raw, disgusting, and with meat even though we are vegetarian and specifically mentioned that. Because of that, we went to the chef to complain. The chef was so snobby and had so much nerve to blame it on everyone, including us, except him. At this time, AT LEAST 5 other families had left in the time we were there and there was another family who was complaining with us. The chef didn’t even apologize but instead told us that we should of complained earlier. We ended up walking away from him because he could not even admit that it was his mistake that we were starving because he could not serve us proper food. While we were walking out of the restaurant, all the waiters were apologizing for the chefs behavior. We went to the front desk to complain because we thought this was unacceptable. Our family and the other family told them our full experience. We endded up meeting 4 other families complaining for the same reason. My family and the other family endded up going hungry at this very expensive, all inclusive resort! This is absolutely unacceptable and is bringing the reputation of the whole hotel down. I wish zero stars...
Read moreThis is the "Italian" restaurant on the Royalton Bavaro resort.
The restaurant was okay. I had spaghetti/meatball (yes singular small meatball) with an appetizer. Others had similar dishes such as lasagna, chicken parm, ravioli, rigatoni, etc... and they were okay as well. I don't believe they offer a desert at this restaurant. At least we couldn't communicate with our server well enough to find out. This restaurant along with the resort in general does not have an abundance of English speaking workers at any level (except our room Butler/attendant). Otherwise, servers were always trying to be helpful.
The pizza kitchen is open throughout the day, so we picked up pizza to take the pool/beach on a couple of days. You can order from outside at their walk-up window. The pizza toppings offered were, Pepperoni, Margherita, Chicken, Ham and a couple others. Nothing too elaborate on the menu, but I also didn't ask if you were able to mix them up as we made due with the options. The pizza was cooked in a traditional wood-fired pizza oven and was actually a very good thin crust. There can be a line around lunchtime as they are rolling the dough and putting them in the oven. The pizza kitchen was a 5-Star
Other than the pizza kitchen, this was probably my least favorite restaurant...

I ordered a coke and by the time I finished, a mint leaf with lemon pulp ended on my lip and I probably drank some as well without noticing. Once I felt it, I quickly looked at the glass and underneath the ice, mint leaf and lemon pulp were found inside the cup, clearly it was not washed and now I was drinking someone else backwash cup. And no one at the restaurant knows who made the drink. The food was not good at all and after my drink incident I couldn’t...
