Restaurante Rodizio Caicu — Restaurant in Higüey

This is a Brazilian restaurant where they are supposed to bring 13 swords of meat around to the tables. The starter buffet was super basic, with some bread, basic salads, cheese and deli meat. We were there for 1.5hrs and only had 5 meats come to our table (2 beef, chicken, sausage, fillet mignon). The one beef skewer was so juicy although a little cold, and the fillet mignon was delicious. Many times they would go to a couple of tables and walk right by us since we were seated by the waitstaff center.

It was a tented area on the beach, we were expecting an adult restaurant. The breeze off the water was beautiful. There was a dress code, but wasn't enforced. The first round of meat had a glass of water dumped into the lap of one of our guests, and they walked away while we tried to clean it up with our napkins. We never did get replacement napkins.

I would not recommend this restaurant when attending this resort. We stayed in the adults only Ambar. It's a shame that the resort itself is beautiful, but the restaurant quality and service was very much lacking at many of the a la cartes on-site. We are still checking out more and writing reviews but so far Portofino Italian was an amazing...

Ended up leaving due to incredibly slow service. We were seated at a table that was sticky. I think they all feel sticky. An agonizing 25 minutes later a person finally filled our water glasses. At 35 minutes later our softdrinks arrived. I asked to order and the person said ‘in a minute’ and walked away. During this time the table next to us had arrived 10 minutes later than we did and were happily munching away on their appetizers and had ordered and received their starters. At this point we felt angry and decided to leave and get food at the Larimar buffet instead. The supervisor at Larimar took my complaint seriously and said he’d look into it. I have received good service at some of the other restaurants and will give them my business instead. Vacations are too short...

This place sucked. Got seated promptly- but our waiter had no idea what he was doing. We wanted apps and didn’t get them until after our meal. The appetizer did not come with any sauces. The salad bar was dirty and all over the place. The coconut shrimp was weird and did not come with any of the ingredients listed. Waited about 20 mins for our first round of meat. 1st round was a filet mingion. The meat tasted like it was sitting out for a hours. Super rubbery and tough and super well done. Love my steaks MR. Requested MR and did not get it as requested. Second round sucked as well. More well done steak. Gross. The restaurant was empty!!! I can see why.

It took so long that we just walked out and left. Poor service...
