We were on our honeymoon so the resorts gave us a romantic dinner on the beach. The concept was good but the weather not so much designed for being on the beach that night. Wind blew our bottle of wine into the sand and instead of the server getting a new bottle he just wiped it off and put it back into the ice with half of it spilled in the sand. We ordered duck and salmon appetizer, duck was slightly undercooked it had good flavor though. Salmon was almost raw with avocado, fish row & a raw egg yolk on top. I'm not into raw anything so I asked the server to heat it up it was like pulling teeth to get him to take it back to the kitchen, once it was warmed it was really tasty. Dinner I ordered sirloin medallions on top of mashed potatoes with gravy and he ordered the 3.5lb lobster. My steak tasted like liver so I didn't eat it. His lobster taste like they pulled it out the ocean, boiled it in ocean water, cut it in half, slapped it on the grill until it was slightly burnt and then covered it with burnt veggie gravy it was horrible. So the server asked us why we didn't like it. We said it wasn't good so we let them eat it. Mind you the were 3 other couples also having their romantic dinner that night and we stayed the longest but the servers were half drunk, drinking & eating whatever the guests left so they were not very attentive to our needs. The desert was partially good, I dont remember what I order some sort of chocolate mousse that appeared and tasted as though it had been sitting in the fridge for several wks so I couldn't eat it but he order some sort of white chocolate cream with raspberry sauce and that was pretty nice. Overall I'd say that dinner was a waste of our time as there was nothing romantic about it. It was a free gift from the resort but I'd rather pay for better service and better...
Read moreThe breakfast and lunch buffets are awesome. Tons of options! To many to list really, but I will try my best.
Breakfast: Pancakes, waffles, grilled fruits (pineapple, etc), Omelets made to order, bacon, sausage, hash browns, potato wedges, various cereal, lots of fruits both sliced and whole, deli meats and cheeses, yogurts, a lot of pastries (donuts, croissants, cinnamon rolls, etc) and of course a Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar. I probably left out a lot of stuff but there's something for everyone here.
A word of note....Oceanside breakfast buffet is for Diamond Club guests only. Other guests use the buffet near the main lobby. We never visited the other for breakfast, so I can not comment on it.
Lunch: Again to many options to list but worth mentioning (at least to me) was a grill for steak and chicken.
Dinner: We did not eat here at Oceanside for dinner. It serves seafood (although I think there is a steak on the menu) and some members in my party do not...
Read moreIf you visit, you have to know that they do breakfast buffet and seafood dinner. I will review for the breakfast only since I didn't try the seafood. Buffet was nice, diamond club only so not crowded. Service was fast and people where really nice and hard working. Got our breakfast there 5 times and last day we where on an outside table and could see and hear the ocean really well, this was an incredible experience. Food was good but not excellent which is kind of normal considering it's a breakfast buffet. If you are diamond club, you need to try it for breakfast...
