Hunter Steak House Royalton Hotel — Restaurant in Higüey

We are on an all inclusive holiday at royaltin putat cana. The restaurant ion site we are expected to book via an app thatcalways crashes and says they are full. We were fed up of eating the buffet so we decided new years eve to treat ourselves to a 3 course lobster and steak at the steak house. We paid $180 extra (on an all inclusive hotel) !!!! Well....don't make the same mistake we did. - it was awful Starter - lobster nd prawn cocktail - we received just the shell of the lobster (no lobster was inside and 2 prawns in which my husband got food poisoning - he spent all new years day in the room 👎 Mains - filter steak with risotto - the steak was overcooked and the risotto was like prison porridge 🤑 Desert - only had 1 option nstead of 2 and had only been open 30 min I would definitely not recommend this steak house especially when it's supposed to be part of your all inclusive and had to pay...

ok,,here goes,,keep in mind this is my experience that I encountered,,,,, made res. for 8pm me, husband, 7 year old daughter birthday, the waiter was extremely distracted with the other guess, did not bring us bread, while we waited, unlike the other guess, also when taking our order he was serious, not friendly, he did not suggest any wine or drinks,did not comeback to the table until food came,,, the food came, DO NOT ORDER THE PORK CHOP, it was boil rather than grilled, steak look good, also crabcake was not really crabcake rather it was some unknown ingredients,,(pic) we did not stay to taste the food, we just left,,the waiter probably wish he had the table with the WHITE guess instead of us,,,because we felt that the other guess was being treated better, and the waiters were jumping over hoops to serve...

Such a unique and special resort but how has this restaurant become a feature. Ouch. Mediocre would be kind. We've had two meals here in our first week. Waited both nights (although table booked in advance) for nearly an hour for appetizers. Overcooked. Lack of flavour. A pretentious air about the place. People waiting for tables whilst the restaurant half empty. Nothing worthy of the wait - food or otherwise to back it up. We've had fabulous Dominican food onsite but this spot lacks in every single respect. Medium rarmeat ordered, vastly overcooked, reheated food produced. No excuse needed. Eat elsewhere. Hard to see any reason to rate. Basic. Ordinary....
