We stopped in one night without a reservation and was immediately greeted and offered a table on the patio or bar. The patio is nice but no one was out there and we wanted to experience the restaurant so we chose to sit at the bar. The owner Phillip greeted us when we sat down. We enjoyed sitting at the bar. There’s a unique glass window behind the bar looking at a rock wall with foliage. Off to the side there’s a small sliding window where the food comes out to be served. Everyone is so friendly and attentive here. The restaurant is so quaint and modern. We ordered drinks first. The Aperol spritz was perfect! Our first appetizer the bruschetta with white bean, sun dried tomato and feta cheese was so flavorful and unique. The escargot appetizer was great with the extra bread for dipping. For dinner we had the pasta with rabbit sausage and shrimp risotto. Both incredibly unique and flavorful plates. They arrived piping hot! There was so much shrimp in my shrimp risotto! The pasta in rabbit sausage was in a delightful Parma Rosa sauce. While we sat there we enjoyed great conversation with Phillip learning about his impressive culinary Resume. While this is not an inexpensive meal you absolutely get what you pay for and it’s worth it! We will...
Read moreOstia is by far the most high-end dining experience in Las Terrenas, from the quality of the dishes to the presentation, service, and decor. We have been dining here since it opened and it never disappoints—the only problem I have is deciding what to order, because everything is so good! For appetizers, the Bruschetta Ostia is my personal favorite, a tangy combo of olive tapenade, white bean puree, sun-dried tomatoes, and feta on crispy toasts. I also love the Wontons Shanghai and the Samosas, which you can’t get elsewhere in this town, and are both authentically spiced and presented beautifully with accompanying sauces. For entrees, again, everything I’ve tried has been fabulous, but in particular I think the Osso Bucco is a standout, as well as the Pork Milanese with mustard sauce, and the Shrimp “El 18,” their signature dish. I’m also a huge fan of the Filete de Dorado prepared with a chorizo-infused butter—again, such a unique and sophisticated take on the typical dishes found elsewhere in town. (Enjoying simple fresh fish on the beach is great, don’t get me wrong, but come to Ostia for an elevated, elegant dinner out—especially if you only have a few days in town to visit. It is the best LT...
