My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights over the Christmas Holiday and found it to be very nice if basic accomodation. The room was just big enough, the bathroom ws very nice and there was a bar fridge as well. The TV was mounted near the ceiling and there was no remote and not flat screen either so if that matters to you...keep it moving.||||It was clean and daily cleaning was available. The towels ere changed daily as was the bedding.||||The free wifi was very fast and strong.||||The grounds were very nice, lots of trees, plants and grass and well maintained. the front gate was secure at the street and there were many security cameras.||||The location was decent enough, close to be able to walk to the beach, restaurants and shops.||||The cost was very good considering the season and the prices of other hotels.||||There are far more expensive and luxurious hotels to be found but for what we were looking for and for our budget this was just right. ||||The management was approachable but also left us alone. If they were wanted they were available but otherwise they did not interfere. They did offer assistance with transportation options and in finding good restaurants.||||Overall I'd give it a 3.5, but considering the overall cost vs the competition and considering high season I will...
Read moreI have stayed at Piedra Marron for a night, a week and even for a month or two at a time. The owners are great and have always treated me with care and concern. The staff are helpful and completely trustworthy.||||When it rains heavy, the owner has messaged me to see that all is well. When I was in a motorcycle accident they found me a doctor and helped coordinate my care like I was family.||||I’ve lived on this island on and off for the last two years and I have found that confidence and trust is the truest and best currency that you can have here; both will be found at Piedra Marron.||||Aside from all of this, the price is excellent, the place is clean and the owners have been adding more conveniences, like coffee service and beer to purchase. With the amenities that they have, the easy-to-enter gated access and the proximity to the beach and local stores, I feel that it’s more than...
Read moreNice budget hotel in Las Terrenas, 10 minute walk to the beach. Situated on the main road that makes a figure 8 going to the beach from the main highway. Easy to find, and has a fenced, gated parking area. However, with proximity to the road you will hear the "motos" buzzing along the road at all hours. I was fortunate enough to get one of the 2 air-conditioned rooms at $40/night. .. worth it because I could close off the wooden shutters (no glass windows) and block some of the noise out. The room was comfortable... included a small fridge, cooktop, flat screen TV (with grainy analog channels) and a shower with adequate pressure and...
