Mi piace — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

We are visiting from NYC and have tried many different pizzas in New York and this pizzeria is by far one of the best. I have also traveled to Rome and tried pizza from there as well and surprisingly this is one of the best authentic pizzas I have ever tried. The guy that makes the pizza is Italian and speaks Spanish and english as well. My whole family really enjoyed the pizza made here. Their desserts are also great! As a New Yorker I seek good pizza and unfortunately there are rarely any good pizza shops in Santo Domingo. Today I tried Mi Piace and it simply wasn't good. It's edible, it's not disgusting, but it isn't good either. It's just average. The crust has no flavor, very little tomato sauce which lacks flavor, and the cheese was lacking. Very laid back out door italian restaurant but has a few seats inside. Service was top notch has a decent bar ..ask for the Lemoncello haha and others. I had the shrimp w/veggies and plantains excellent. Cappuccino was very good. I will come again....
