Nipau — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

Wow. It was February 14th so I expected an effort. But this went way beyond my expectations. The menu was fixed with very limited choices for each course on this special day. Chicken vol au vents were the Chef's gift, beatifully prepared and well presented. My partner and I both chose steak for the main course. The portions completely filled us to excess and, far more importantly, delighted us both. Mine arrived medium rare, as requested, and hers was medium, as also requested, both cooked to perfection. They were delicious and almost certainly imported as the meat was beautifully tender. The entrés and desserts were equally wonderful. Service wad exceptional, with no less than two people attending when required, sometimes three. The restaurant is intimate (suiting the fact that only a few other diners saw the moment my partner became my fiancee) and definitely high class. There is limited off-road parking at front but street parking was ample. This was one of my most enjoyable meals in my 11 years living here. It was unforgettable and I will hope to go back. Prices were high (RD$800 per person but, no doubt, to cover a special menu for Valentine's day) compared to many more ordinary restaurants but who cares when the satisfaction is so complete. This restaurant located in the new area of ​​the city, in the Piantini sector, offers fusion food, an excellent atmosphere and contemporary decoration.
