Mofongo El Mocano - Gustavo Mejía Ricart — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

I recently visited this restaurant that specialized in mofongo, and I have to say, the food was delicious! However, the noise level inside was quite high, which made it a bit difficult to have a conversation without raising your voice.

Despite the noise, I highly recommend trying the bicifongo. This dish consisted of mofongo (mashed plantains) mixed with fried pork and served in a bicycle-shaped bowl. The presentation was unique and fun, and the flavors were absolutely amazing. The pork was crispy and savory, and the mofongo had the perfect texture and seasoning.

Overall, I think this restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you're a fan of mofongo. Just be prepared for a noisy atmosphere and make sure to try...

I walked 15 minutes to this place for a To go order, the food was ready so they use to go paper bags and use a staple all over the bag and makes it impossible to open and check to see if everything was inside. When I arrive at my hotel my mofongo was missing, I asked if they can send it to me via delivery they just gave me the silence treatment. I asked to talk to supervisor, wasn't there. Manager left early, so nothing they could do about sending my mofongo instead of making me walk 15 more minutes back to the restaurant. HORRIBLE EL SERVICIO!!! En la Gustavo Mejia. Llegue a las 9.43 pm con mi pareja. ORDENAMOS 1. MOJITOS, 2.PALITOS DE QUESO DE ENTRADA 3. UN MOCANITO Y UN MADUFONGO. Nos traen los mojitos a las 10.12 la entrada a las 10.30. después había inconveniente porque según ellos no aparecía lo que pedimos, llegaban personas después de que llegamos y a ellos le servían. Hablamos con la que se supone que es la supervisora, nos indica que tienen varios platos que no son de lo que pedimos que si queremos esos, como que esto es lo que hay cógelo o te aguantas prácticamente, después de conversar con la señora le indicamos de manera pacífica pero no de acuerdo que aceptamos el platillo que tiene, y este informa que nos dará uno de ellos por cortesía. Aceptamos luego de pasar 5 minutos (pero ya son al rededor de las 11.25pm) que ya apareció nuestro plato (frío, sin sabor, el MADUFONGO, de maduro no tenía nada) se gasto alrededor de 2700 en su negocio y el servicio fue el peor de todos. Los 2 mojitos que ordenamos nos llegaron luego de que acabamos el mofongo, sabía más a jugo de limón sin azúcar que mojito. Y tan siquiera una disculpa por la demora nada, se entiende que el día de ayer era un día medio complicado pero usted está brindando un servicio sino está preparado para tal cosa mejor ni abrir. No quede conforme ni con ganas de volver a ninguno. Había ido al de San Isidro y el servicio fue mejor por eso decidí volver pero me arrepiento. Gastar tanto dinero y no quedar...
