We went to eat there and we ordered appetizers. It was good. Then we all ordered our entreé. After waiting for our order like 10 to 15 minutes, the waiter came back with everyone's dishes but mine. He said to me that the kitchen ran out of what I ordered. I looked at him and asked him when he was supposed to ask me that question? The waiter said that the kitchen told him just now. So the kitchen acknowledged the whole order, knew they didn't have the dish, never told the waiter and then ask me to order another dish AFTER everyone gets their meal done? I called the manager, she was apologetic but that was it. So if the staff mess up anyone's order, it's the classic TOO BAD, WE ARE SO SORRY. You want to order another dish or not? So I decided not to order another dish because everyone is already eating and when my order comes, is too late. Take my picture, because I'm not going back. My reviews of this place is not due to the food, but the lack of service and the manager lack of action to make up the situation. A simple "im so sorry" won't change a thing. So this really is one of my favorite Asian restaurants in Santo Domingo. I visit Zen Kitchen at least once per week. Beautiful decor, attentive staff, and excellent staff. The tuna tartar is very good and always fresh. The Shrimp Bibimbap is very good. Served in a hot stone bowl and mixed table side. Our usual waiter FREIMER is fast, friendly, and never misses a detail. But in fairness the entire staff is good. Also it’s a good place for group dinners or celebrations. The manager JOSE LUIS is on top of his game. He is friendly and monitors quality of service and food.
