Mitre — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

Service was good two weeks ago when my friends and I were very well dressed, ordered lots of food and tipped well, however when we returned this week in casual clothing we were treated terribly, especially by the waitress/supervisor Kathleen/Katrine. She met us at the door with a very smug and arrogant attitude. Even though we had reservations and specifically requested the spot we were at the week prior; she wouldn’t allow us to sit there for no particular reason even though the tables were empty. On top of that, the other waiter who attended to us was even ruder and basically threw our drinks at us. It’s a shame they’re so classist and judged us on our appearance. The service was so bad we couldn’t eat there, we simply paid for our drinks and left. They will lose a lot of business with their negative attitude. Next time, I hope they will learn to not judge a book by it’s cover. I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be going back. Terrible experience. I will make sure to report this disappointing occurrence...

Mitre is and interesting restaurant, first off lets start with the good, the ambiance is stellar, somedays they have Live music with some great singes like Paloma Rodriguez, one of it's best areas is the terrace, its by far the largest area in the restaurant where most of the action happens, one of the best thing's they have is the ventilation system, they have large electronic fans all around which keeps things cool, the waiters are attentive but they can get a bit overwhelmed if there are to many guest.

The wine list is quite extensive, and prices are around average for that sort of restaurant, people love using ti for birthdays and other gatherings.

now to the bad stuff, parking is a mess, they do have Valet, but there location is quite complicated, if your going to go, I suggest you get there early, walk ins are welcome but if you don't have a reservation waiting times are long.
