I went to this place based on a recommendation from a friend in Cairo. Being a business owner, I get very offended by fake reviews, so I will try to be as honest as possible. Findings; Shop is located on a narrow port Said street. Upon arriving, I found lots of crowd mainly young generation maybe university students. In the shop they have two or three tables to sit and dine, about 12 persons can be seated! You got to register to be one of the lucky persons to set on one of the tables, Alternatively you can make a take away order. In any case whether you will be lucky and set or take an order and go! You got to wait for one hour. I guess the whole experience is not worth it! as nothing special. Staff were very polite, but the whole business is very disorganised! My main concern was the hygiene, I had a glimpse on the kitchen area its a disastrous, I am pretty sure any swap will reveal million of bacteria on the field. I am not sure how come a grocery store and a dairy shop has become a resturant, while still running the two other businesses? I am not at all asking people not to visit but the above were...
Read moreone of Alexandria's little gems. I'm usually very cautious with places that people recommend with a passion because many times i felt they were overrated. with alban sewisra, i was managing my expectation and expecting another overrated place but luckily i was not disappointed.
The place itself is a small grocery store that still maintains a classic and old feel to it. There are 4 tables on the side (reasonable seated area given the size of the place). I have ordered sandwiches to go as we had a train to catch. We have ordered melted cheese sandwiches (of course), eggs with pastrami and cheese (ya lahwi!), chicken strips with cheese for the kids, sausages with cheese. My favorite was of course the eggs with pastrami and cheese. The prices are very reasonable and it's definitely very good quality for the price. Would love to go again, sit and try the dishes. Would passionately recommend it...
Read moreI recently visited Alban Sweara, drawn in by their unique concept of molten cheese over anything. I chose the beef and onion dish, and another plate with a mix of sausage, beef bacon, and crispy chicken. Both plates were hot and extremely tasty, with fresh and soft bread that complemented the meal perfectly.
I also tried their lemon juice with mint, which was just okay.
However, the experience was dampened by the service. It took a long time for the staff to notice my presence in the restaurant, and I had to ask multiple times for bread refills. The only saving grace in the service department was a staff member named Mark, who was helpful and attentive. Without him, the service rating would have been even lower.
Overall, the food quality at Alban Sweara is impressive, but there is a significant need for improvement in their service to match the quality of...
