Wave Cafe — Restaurant in Alexandria

Worst meal we have eaten in Egypt. The Greek salad looked sad with wilting lettuce and the feta cheese and dressing were bland. We shared mixed seafood grill which was pricey by local standards and only had breaded fish filet, 1 mussel, 2 shrimp, 2 imitation crab sticks and some calamari. I spat out the mussel, the shrimp were way overcooked (seemed like they had been precooked and then reheated), and the fish was not fresh (had foul odor). The management tried to mitigate our dissatisfaction with the poor meal with complimentary fried dough dessert but we are generally healthy eaters and avoid carbs and sweets. In US restaurants would either comp the inedible meal or replace with another entree. The staff do not speak English which complicated communication but I was able to use Translate app. We were given 2 bottles of water which we did not order. When I told them of the error, instead of promptly removing the water bottles they left them on our table and said would not charge on bill which I thought was weird. The restaurant is plein air without A/C and it was very hot. The overall meal and experience left literally and figuratively a bad taste in our mouth. The only good thing I can say about the restaurant is the waterfront...

Nice location with views to the pool and beach if you stay at Sunrise Alex hotel but that's about it. Strangely they said they didn't have seafood at 8pm on a Saturday but only the most expensive fish was available not any of the sadinya fish dishes which I found unbelievable. The menu clearly states that you can choose two sides from a range of things but they insisted only rice and mash came with it anything else would be an extra...not sure if they intentionally misunderstood me. When we tried to return to our hotel room they wouldn't let us use the entrance there though we showed them the proof that we are guests at the hotel. So we had to take a longer walk outside to get back to our hotel. Unfortunately it was the worst dining experience in Egypt so far. Hopefully better from here. I...

I loved this experience! The place like you are sitting in the sea exactly!! The view was incredibly awesome 💙✨ I had pizza at lunch which was great and enough for a hungry one 😋😋 our dessert order took longer time than expected 🙊 molten cake and cheesecake was not good enough as we waited that long time 🙊 music was good at first but there were birthday surprise parties so it was repeated with birthday songs 😅😅 prices were affordable 👍🏻👍🏻 the stuff were really friendly and good ❤️❤️ but take care of cats as one of them ate my takeaway pizza while talking to my friends 😂😂 this place has different ways of gathering places and has kids area .. good for friends, family gathering or birthday...
