I stayed in a "single" room, 402 to be specific, despite the fact that it had two beds which I paid 900 EGP a night for.
First thing I was greeted by was a terrible musty smell. It took a lot of time to air it out, and it'd come back when I closed the broken balcony doors. The reception is very decent and gives you the impression that it's more beta than what you are greeted with. Once you get into the elevator and levels, the reality is that it's a very old shabby apartment. The employees are very nice, but the service was subpar. My TV stopped working and it took forever along with many calls to get someone to fix it, only for it to not be fixed at the end, until I gave up and did without it. The bath tub and toilet had gnarly muddy stains on them that wouldn't go away even after calling room service to remove them. I struggled to cope with using them. The water pressure is incredibly high though, almost too high.
All in all, I'm not sure if the rest of the rooms are like the one I stayed at, but I don't think I'll be staying there again, as it seemed too pricey for a room of...
Read moreI've stayed in Qaoud hotel several times when i visited Alex for business -- to me, it is like a bnb without the breakfast 😗. This time I'll review room 709, standard double no-sea view room for 1050 Egyptian pounds. Clean room, but old in furniture and amenities. The central AC is weak and the fan is super noisy. No clothes hangers and the towels and tissues are never there until you request. Service is slow and ineuffecient-- I asked for a different billow and wifi access and never got them. The most odd thing was the TV that is connected to the light switch-- you can never watch the TV in the dark. Also it was noisy around the room very late and so early, not sure about the source. On the other hand, the mini fridge and TV are working well, a prayer's mat was there besides a mark to the aqebla and a Mos7af, location is great and you can enjoy the beautiful breeze in the reception cafe. This review mostly applies for the different standard no-view single/double rooms...
Read moreExtremely dirty. There was dust everywhere. I found nails on the bed and pasta in the couch. The spare pillows and blankets had holes in them and a few ants. The pillows were yellow and I'm afraid of what I would've seen if I got a blacklight. The toilet is dirty, old, and just is a bad sight in general. Everythingd worn out. Noisy outside. Staff lies about how good the place is, is generally rude, and completely unprofessional. Elevator doesn't reach every floor. No AC, or any amenities for that fact besides a dusty old fan. And above all that (can't believe I'm saying this about a budget hotel) too expensive for what you're getting. In addition, there is barely any cellular connection. Only slightly decent thing is the location which is close to several attractions and has a view of the beach, but even that isn't that special. Overall, a very bad place, do not recommend going...
