⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Nostalgic Gem in Korba – Timeless Charm & Great Vibes!
Groppi is one of those rare places that transports you to a different era the moment you step in. Located in the heart of Korba, this historic café-restaurant carries a nostalgic charm that few places can replicate. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with an old-world elegance that makes you feel like you’re part of a classic Egyptian movie scene. The crowd here is generally older, adding to the place’s refined and cultured atmosphere. If you appreciate a relaxed, traditional setting where time seems to slow down, Groppie is a must-visit.
Drinks & Desserts: A Delightful Experience • Anise Tea: I started with an anise tea, and it was perfect—fragrant, soothing, and served at just the right temperature. The herbal aroma filled the air, and the taste was rich yet light, making it an ideal choice for winding down and enjoying the atmosphere. • Strawberry Juice: We also ordered a fresh strawberry juice, and it was absolutely refreshing. Unlike overly sweetened versions you find in some places, this one tasted purely of fresh, ripe strawberries, slightly pulpy and naturally sweet. It was served chilled, making it the perfect companion to our desserts. • Cake: To accompany our drinks, we had cake, and it was a wonderful surprise. Moist, flavorful, and not overly sugary—just the right balance of sweetness to complement the tea and juice. The texture was soft, and every bite had that homemade, traditional touch that makes Groppi stand out from modern cafés.
Final Thoughts
Groppi isn’t just a café; it’s an experience. It’s a place where you can sit for hours, soaking in the vintage vibes, listening to quiet conversations, and enjoying truly well-prepared drinks and desserts. Whether you’re here for a relaxing afternoon, a quiet moment of reflection, or just a taste of old Cairo’s elegance, this place delivers on all fronts.
Highly recommend for those who appreciate history, charm, and great service. Definitely...
Read moreHilariously Bad Quality, Bad Service, and No Money Value! This place is really a joke …
We went for dessert, requesting “Om Ali” a coffee latte, and water. When we tasted “Om Ali” it was cold; however, we asked them to be normally hot. The waiter came and heated both; however, both were overheated and overcooked, and also the taste was not good at all, so we ate hardly. Waiters were talking to each other and leaving the people sitting without a proper response. One of the waiters has been requested to bring another bottle of water, and then we found him standing at the back doing nothing !!!! Moreover, we suffered all night from stomachache and disturbance of the poor quality “Om Ali.” Additionally, they served the coffee latte in a round cup which is not desired for a standard latte, and it was cold!!!! The table beside us returned a Lemon juice because it wasn’t cold !!!
Once upon a time, this place was an amazing one “since more than twenty years ago.”
Unfortunately, it is not only behind the basic standards of an acceptable quality of desserts and drinks but also has no minimum acceptable quality of service. I’m wondering, does this a place that has been used to be visited by elite people of Heliopolis residents and all of the high-class people in Cairo and Alex.?!! Does this place used to serve the best “Marron Glacé,” the best “Cream Chante” in Egypt, and the best “Ice Cream” in the region ???!!!!
The management should either be changed or attend preliminary training on the minimum standards on how moderate coffee should be even in the countryside of Egypt. Moreover, the bathroom is far from the minimum acceptable level of cleanliness.
I was really excited about visiting that place as it used to be a fantastic. However, It is obvious this place now does not care about the served items or its guests. Accordingly, with such an experience, which is really disappointing, I would never repeat it and don’t recommend...

Their fresh fruit cocktails are well-made, and the coffee is rich and satisfying.
