Le Chantilly Restaurant — Restaurant in Cairo

5/10 I am used to thé pastries on take away which are very fine and thé prices very fair. But I went on the restaurant and it was very dispointing. Things are quite overated in Price for quite poor cuisine Quality. The beverage are unjustifily expensive. 100le the double expresso, 60le the latte. The star goes to the ginger hot drink billed 50le which is actually a packet (local brand Isis that coast 2le in the market). The taste was very bad and I was actually pieced off to pays that 50 in a so called swiss fine restaurant. I complained to the waiter who call the maître d'hôtel to record my complaint. I have argued that in the menue it's not stated that it's a packet and I have assumed it was fresh ginger. He replied that it's been 26 years that they serve this Isis packet. On which I replied they should simply mention it in the menu. Bref, it was a poor experience, the waiter where not very nice, and in m'y opinion this restaurant...

A Swiss restaurant. The menu honestly didn't interest me at all I even thought to change the place. However, I stayed and ordered the Beef Stroganoff, the meat was w bit hard and chewy but the taste was good. It came with a white rice on the side, my colleague ordered something else which was also good. The decor is a bit out dated but that's understandable because they said the restaurant is a 40 years old place, many seating areas for smoking and non smoking. They also have a salad bar but it is a one time visit only. When you get it in the place has a desserts counter which made me doubt is it a restaurant or just a coffee shop. The staff was really helpful and nice. Around if you needed anything but not around to annoy you. The pictures below is not the main course menu, there is still many items...

I loved this place cz it held so much memories for me and my family, but this place keeps getting worse and worse, sadly they decided to increase the prices on the already overpriced menu, so i just decided to look for another restaurant in the area, but sadly they were all full. Went back to le chantilly, but the not so professional waiter mimicking me and asked "so are the other rest. Also very expensive?". I ignored him cz I was hungry and decided to ordered a pizza for me and my fiancée, the pizza was horrible it reminded me of the old cheap fatatry pizza's we had by the beach back in the dayss.
