Ozel — Restaurant in Cairo

I had the pleasure of dining at OZEI in New Cairo, and it turned out to be an exceptional experience from start to finish.

The restaurant has a modern yet welcoming atmosphere, with elegant interiors that immediately set the tone for a refined evening. The staff greeted me warmly and remained attentive throughout the visit, striking the right balance between professionalism and friendliness.

OZEI’s menu is diverse and creative, offering a mix of Mediterranean and international flavors. I tried the [insert dish Mohamed liked most, e.g., “wagyu sliders” or “sea bass with miso glaze”], which was nothing short of outstanding — perfectly cooked, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. The appetizers and desserts were equally impressive, showing real attention to detail and quality.

What stood out most was the consistency: every dish was fresh, well-balanced, and presented with care. The service was smooth, and the overall vibe made the evening feel special without being overly formal.

A very disappointing experience in terms of food and service. It was enough once and for all!

The service was below the expectations. The crowd of Eid is never an excuse for a low dining experience. I have observed the dynamics in Özel and they truely need to work on the focus of their staff to serve guests and being attentive to their requests. The main dishes were served after waiting for long that we almost felt full and even one of the dishes was missing after a long waiting time.

In terms of food, it was served cold and we rated all our dishes less than 5/10. So definitely was not worth the waiting.

Even though we expressed our dissatisfaction with the late food, there was barely any of the staff focusing with us until we had to call them to bring the bill towards the end. We could also hear different customers around us complaining to the waiters that their food was delayed or that they almost forgot them.

The manager tried to correct the situation by serving us a complimentary dish of 4 mini pieces of Turkish sweets for 3 persons. This was a nice gesture but not sufficient to make us come again to...
