A very positive first experience at Mo Bistro Garden 8, right from our arrival at the restaurant. Really nice ambiance and excellent service and attention from the Assistant Manager, Sherif. Personally, I don't eat out often nowadays because of the pandemic and so was happy to see that the service team were all wearing masks and there was space between the tables (outdoor seating). While we waited for our food, we were treated to fresh bread accompanied by chopped green olives and seasoned chopped tomatoes. There were so many great choices on the menu but we finally decided on the grilled chicken and Murgh Makhani with a side of mac and cheese as it had been "highly recommended " by my 12 year old granddaughter when she heard In was going to Mo Bistro (its on the kids menu but they should do an adult portion :)) The food arrived hot and nicely presented. The grilled chicken was perfectly cooked and so tasty. The accompanying veggies were crisp and nicely seasoned. The Murg Makhani sauce was really good but the chicken pieces were a tad dry. The basmati rice was nice and fluffy. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and cheesy and I can see why the kids (big and small) love it. Food portions are just perfect. We were given a complimentary desert, Mo Bistro speciality sweet potato topped with cream. Yum. Service is great, friendly and professional. We will...
Read moreHad such a lovely time at MO Bistro ❣️❣️❣️❣️ I originally went in craving steak and fries, but the menu totally pulled me in — everything looked amazing, even breakfast (definitely coming back in the morning for that).
The place is cozy and stylish, and the staff were some of the kindest I’ve met in Cairo so far. Special thanks to Mohamed for helping us with our order and being super patient, even when I ignored his salad recommendation (lesson learned 😅). I went with the endive, green apple & walnut salad — and let’s just say… it wasn’t love at first bite. But what truly stood out was how the team handled it: they noticed I didn’t enjoy it and kindly took it off the check without me even saying a word. That kind of care and attentiveness is rare, and it honestly meant a lot.
The flanked steak with teriyaki and mushroom sauce was out of this world, and the creamy almond soup? Dreamy.
One small hiccup: I was heartbroken when I heard the tiramisu was sold out — but somehow, they made a slice appear later, and it made my whole night. It’s rare to see that kind of service and care. Oh, and the passionfruit iced tea? A match made in heaven.
Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend if you're after great food, warm vibes, and genuinely...
Read moreWith the suburbinisation happening in Cairo City, Mo Bistro is one the last remaining semi-casual fine dining restaurants available in Dokki/ Mohandiseen area which serves a gastronomical experience.
The quality has remained decent for the past so many years and definitely a place where we continue to re-visit.
Some of their signature items though continue to remain unavailable which I assume is due to the lack of ingredients.
The wings is a classic and must have. For the more adventurous the bone marrow is amazing... Always! The onions as the condiment on the side need to be less sweet but definitely a signature dish which the restaurant has perfected.
I tried the Lamb Shank as a main today and though the meat was tender and soft, I believe the mixture of how it is cooked and is presented confuses the pallet now allowing you to enjoy the meat itself. The khalta rice with the tomatoe salsa destroys the beauty of what the meat has to offer. The chef needs to reassemble this dish to maximize and let one enjoy the tender meat, but the bed of rice is definitely a no-no.
Overall. Mo Bistro hits the heart and I hope they continue in Dokki /...
