Review of Mahraga Indian Restaurant
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mahraga Indian Restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish.
Food The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. Each dish was bursting with flavor, showcasing the rich and diverse culinary traditions of India. I particularly enjoyed the butter chicken, which was creamy and perfectly spiced. The vegetarian options were equally impressive, with the paneer tikka being a standout. The naan was fresh and warm, making it the perfect accompaniment to the dishes.
Staff The staff at Mahraga were incredibly welcoming and attentive. From the moment I walked in, they greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel right at home. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations based on my preferences.
Service The service was quick and efficient, ensuring that our food arrived promptly without feeling rushed. The staff checked in on us at just the right intervals, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive.

Read moreNot the best place I have been to I have to admit. As you walk in we was not greeted by anyone and was just wondering around after we had to ask if we could sit on an empty table. it was fairly busy but had plenty of staff. Menu selection was good although not as many dishes as I'm used to back in the U.K (curry is the national dish !!!!) After making our order we was waiting which felt like forever and was told it would be half hour for our food ! Food arrived after 40 minutes but had to wait another 5 mins for my girlfriend's rice. Food was ok, I had a lamb Korma which was a dark red colour and had a very strong tomato taste ??? I thought it should be coconut...... The clay pot my rice was served in was all broken around the tip and was worried I might get a piece in my food as well as my plate was broken in a few places. We skipped desert as we really wanted to get out of there. When paying bill was charged to the nearest pound which I thought was a bit cheeky as I paid by card not cash. We won't be going back...
Read moreI entered this place skeptical, Indian is not easy to make, specially in Egypt, not many places has the chefs for it... However, i was put at ease a little with quiet atmosphere of the place, and it's cleanliness... My friend and i ordered mushroom soup for start, and it was really nice for a start, then i ordered Lasooni Tikka chicken, with Vegetable Beryani... My friend also ordered the Vegetable Beryani, but with chicken Tikka Masala .... Needles to say, we enjoyed our selves immensely, which was to our surprise, since we went expecting so little of the place, but it was a delightful experience... And, to top it all off, the restaurant offered us free desert, Coconut Ice Cream "Narial Kulfi", and their Carrots and Cardamom pudding "Gajar Halawa", which was really nice of them and extremely tasty, and really easy on the stomach after such a meal mixed with so many different tastes... I recommend this place wholeheartedly... But, don't take my word for it, have a try yourself and make your own...
