Star Fish Restaurant — Restaurant in Red Sea

Don’t even deserve a star:) The restaurant is just scanning money from tourist. First, waiters are being so not clear about paid and complimentary dishes on menu. They will tell you that a dish is complimentary before you order it but they will ask you to pay for it later when they check out:) We ordered a dish called Malabar with shrimp which the man said is free, but he charged this on the bill for us to pay. Waiters at the restaurant are taking advantage of the language barrier to defraud money from the tourists which is such a bad attitude:) We had three people and had already ordered 4-5 dishes to try and we wanted to order fish there. The waiter neither tell us how much it cost per kg nor did they ask us for permission about if the size of the fish is ok for us before cooking. They chose the heaviest one with 1.36 kg which forced us to pay more without considering if we can consume all of it. We feel tourist here were treated fraudulently like atm machines :)The experience is terrible. Can’t say anymore word. The price of our bill is 3971 EGP in total. Horrible place, total tourist trap, avoid at all cost!!!!! This place is overpriced and the staff is just trying to scam you in every possible way. We ordered a “market priced” fish which charged by weight but they served us a ridiculously huge fish directly without checking the weight/size we want ahead. The same went with squid and shrimps, they served the portion directly without checking with us. And FYI no seafood here is fresh but all frozen probably for ages. The shrimp’s texture tastes extremely bad because of this. We even ordered the overpriced lobsters and they tasted horrifying too. It’s hard, dry and flavourless - honestly don’t even taste like lobster. They “ordered” us so much food that we ended up only finishing half of it.

Eventually, we received a bill of a shocking amount ( btw the bill was written in Arabic) and there are so many items we didn’t order but just got added onto it ( like dipping sauce( not just one but three!!!), bread, bottled water and even limes(??!!). After arguing they took off about 100 Egyptian pound off the nearly 4000 bill which was basically a joke ( yet they acted like it was such a big sacrifice). Worst dining experience ever. It was really Bad experience!! The food taste good, BUT the service was so unfriendly from the beginning , they only want to know where we from. ( we was 2 European girls. ) I order drinks and directly they forget it and after 15 min. I ask again and then they bring it. Without sorry. I order 5 grilled shrimps and 10 BREADED shrimps First of all breaded is only grill here without nothing , and I tried to explain him what is the meaning of breaded and he acting that I'm stupid and was directly aggressiv. In the end they want for only 15 shrimp : 800 Egypt. Pound . = 14€ I was eating befor there many time and never pay this price. They acting that I'm rich European person and have the feeling that they make extra different price . In the end also they was not Frindly, even to ask if I wanna the rest for take away.
