We arrived at this restaurant quite late in the afternoon, around 16. A kind girl welcomed us and assured us we could still eat something. The service was at first very nice and fast. The food took a while to arrive, but since it was so late we did not mind. From there on however, everything went south. I got the BBQ spare ribs with “tomato sauce”. The spare ribs were not at all exceptional, but still passable. The problem was really the sauce. It was not simply tomato sauce. There was sea weed in it and it just really didn’t go with the BBQ. Personal taste of course, but I have been feeling pain and I have been trying to digest it for the whole day and it is deeply unpleasant. The other problem is also the prices… it seems quite cheap as a place until you realise that they ask you 6 euros to have anything with your main dish. My partner got loaded sweet potatoes and the portion was really quite small for the price. They also charged me for a glass of water that I thought was quite unnecessary. If you need to charge at least bring a caraffe as I had asked. We finished our meal and for 45 minutes after that we were left unattended. After the time passed I started trying to make contact with the two girls at the bar and honestly it looked like they were doing a competition to who would ignore us the best. Bear in mind that there was only one other couple in the whole restaurant. Finally, an hour later, I manage to signal the girl who seems quite pissed she lost the avoidance competition. She comes really looking like I just ruined her day and I was a super rude costumers when I just politely raised my hand. Pissed she comes by and I ask her if we could order some coffee and see the dessert menu. I ask for an espresso macchiato, she says that she doesn’t know if they have it. To be kind, I say that in case they do not, a cappuccino would be fine. So bothered she just says okay then two cappuccino. Like seriously? At least pretend to ask? It is literally an espresso with some milk I am not asking for the world. Luckily the nice girl from the beginning reappears to take our dessert order and we had a wonderful waffle. However the blonde girl really destroyed the mood. The brunette also seemed a bit pissed now. Honestly I ended up feeling bad, but then I was like ‘wait a second, I am being nice and I’m not asking for the world’ At first I thought it might be the famous “culture” barrier, but there is respect. I worked 10 years in restoration in multiple countries with international clients and you just do not act pissed at the client after they patiently waited an hour. You simply do not. After the experience we checked the negative reviews and it all checks out. So for the owner of the restaurant or whoever responds to the text, we said good morning, we asked if they spoke English, we said thank you every time and smiled, we did not...
Read moreService and atmosphere are really pleasant here, but the food left a strange impression.
First of all, the appearance/texture/size/serving of the dishes is confusing: pulled beef from the main course section looks like a bread spread, while avocado appetizer/tapas is chopped in large pieces and is not actually convenient to eat on bread. On a first glance, we didn’t even understand whether it was our order.
Secondly, the taste: WEIRDEST mix of dried onions/tomatoes/wakame seaweed (it’s gross even though I like each of these things separately) as a side for shashlik, while the meat itself tastes nothing but a soy sauce. Super salty (as if you’re eating pure salt straight from the bowl) beef and tasteless “chilli” avocado. Well, at least the drinks were good.
Overall, did not meet our expectations. Won’t recommend for anything other than...
Read moreEdit: the crispy chicken poke bowl is nothing like it used to be. They barely added any sayce, the chicken was beaten paper thin. So It is now 50% smaller than what it used to be, but the price is the same. It used to be my favorite, but after last visit, I wouldn’t order it again.
Go to place when you’re craving for waffles. I ordered waffles with crème brûlée, but it was way too sweet for me. Could’ve been better if they’d serve it with ice-cream or anything that would neutralize the flavor.
In summer, this street is buzzing with life. So it might be tricky to get a free table outside. So it might be smart to reserve a...
