Gastronoom — Restaurant in Pärnu linn

From the second we stepped in, we loved the atmosphere: frienly staff, nice service. The place itself was gorgeus too.

The menus were completely different than on their sites and google. Not a big variety of foods to choose from either.

The entrees we ordered were breath-takingly pretty. Foie gras: Brioche was very soft, probably the highlight of the whole evening. There was a lot of paté and mushrooms on top, maybe too much. Taste was ok, nothing too special. Sweet potato pâté: A lot of foie and guacamole, but only 4-5 small sweet potato chips. A lot of the foie was left over. Taste was a bit bland.

The main dishes were also gorgeus, very colorful and nicely plated. Beef tenderloin: Ordered a medium, what we got was more to the rare side. Tasted bland and was a bit tough. Wine sauce was sweet, and smooth. On the side we got beetroot and smoked carrot. The combination of all of them was sweet, but in a good way. Shrimp hot-pot: Good proportions of shrimp, rice and sauce. Shrimp was a bit over-cooked, sauce had a sour/bitter taste, which threw us off a bit. Smoky tomato was delish. Rice was undercooked and watery.

All of the 4 dishes had a lingering weird sour taste, like old cheese, which was NOT pleasant at all.

Dessert did not disappoint, taste wise. Plating was underwhelming and boring. The Citrus: Presentation made us laugh, because it was very disappointing. Big black plate, dark brown small cube, topped with brown pudding. It all blended into one and it was missing so much. Taste was very intense and packed with flavor. Kind of hard to eat. Mango cheesecake: Presentation could have been better, was not the worst. Cake itself was very rich and creamy, berries added a nice touch.

All the drinks we ordered were a definite 10/10. Thought out and looked gorgeus!

Overall, we expected a much better experience, especially taste-wise. From what we got, not worth going,...

I cannot remember enjoying being at a restaurant this much! Everything was beyond our expectations - the drinks, the food, how it was served on the plate, the staff, waiting time. We were 6 people company and no matter what we ordered it was brilliant and for that quality, the price is very very reasonable. It was my first time making a reservation at this restaurant but definitely not the last. I don’t know where to begin… Firstly, The service was impolite and rude. When we politely asked about the waiting time for our starters (we had already waited for 50 mins at this point) the restaurant manager rolled her eyes and told us that ”this is a restaurant”. in a very impolite manner. The service continued to be impolite, when we pointed out that we were not happy, how we were treated as customers. Secondly, the mains (fish of the day) were flavourless. The fish was most probably pre-made and just quickly heated again before serving. Would not reccomend this...
