Hotel Victoria — Hotel in Pärnu linn

Arriving to Hotel Victoria is nice, because building itself is a real treat - completed in 1926 exterior has really nice design and feels almost like a luxury hotel. That impression however fades away when you enter. You can tell that last repairs / renovations have been done long time ago.||||Reception clerk was helpful and check-in itself went smoothly and then one has to climb quite a few steps to next floor, where the rooms are. I stayed at the suite, which was spacious enough and with nice views to the street and park across the hotel. But as i took my coat off it seemed like a mistake, because it was really cold in the room. Sure - radiators were on, but still... I reckon it was maybe 17/18 C in there (around 60-65 F). ||||Bed was huge and really really soft (maybe even too much for me) but everything in the room seemed "worn". Bathroom was OK, although one strange thing was that toilet paper is like on the opposite side of the room and you really had to stretch to get it. Luckily I have long arms :) ||||Shower worked well and hot water came almost immediately, although one of the sliding doors were missing and it was replaced with a curtain. Why not! ||||In the morning it was so nice to walk into the restaurant for breakfast, because it was WARM there! And restaurant itself felt like from 1926 with lots of paintings with (almost) naked women on the walls. Selection of food was quite simple, but at least everything tasted really well (even scrambled eggs, which sometimes taste like sawdust). Especially I would like to highlight salmon fillet with pepper coating!||||Price-wise, I would say that it is reasonable, but then again it is low season at the moment and I am not sure if I would return there again.||||P.S. WI - FI was exceptionally bad. I had to wait 30-40 seconds sometimes for a web-page to load. So it was quite a struggle to do work there.||P.P.S. There is no option for free parking near...

The location of the Hotel is excellent. Staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was good, the building itself and the restaurant look beautiful and full of old time glamour. However, the rooms do not reflect this.||I had initially booked 4 nights in Hotel Victoria. We got a very good offer and I certainly wasn't expecting any luxury. I requested a room on the park side and was happy to hear the hotel agreed to this. Technically the room was on the park side. However, it was right on the corner of a road. As we opened the door, we had to take turns to go in, as the room was the size of a stamp; very small. It was also stuffy with wall-to-wall carpet. When I sat on the bed, I felt like I went right through it; the thick mattress was uncomfortably soft.||This ended up being the breaking point for us. I could hardly sleep at all and in the morning, I was SO tired and cranky. All I could think of was the sleepless night. Although I was happy I escaped a migraine that often comes after a badly slept night, I wasn't looking forward to spending 3 more nights on that bed.||My husband and I discussed the situation at breakfast, which by the way, was nice. Unfortunately, I was too cranky to really enjoy it. We decided to ask the hotel if they would have anything else to offer us. The young woman at the reception was very nice, understood our problem (we got the impression we weren't the first ones to have a problem with the mattresses) and offered us another room. We went to take a look at the other room and it was a lot bigger, nice sized room (and on the park side) but it still had the exact same beds with the unnaturally soft mattresses. I briefly considered sleeping on the floor but quickly gave up on that idea. In the end, we decided to go to another hotel. So no, I wouldn't recommend...

Что хорошо, так это удачное расположение отеля. Неплохое оформление ресепшн и ресторана. Заманчивый внешний вид здания.||||А вот остальное......||Люди, обходите этот отель стороной!||Во первых – нас разместили в номер столь малых размеров, что кровать еле - еле размещалась между стеной и окном. Был риск, что ночью пятки будут торчать из окна.||Во вторых – отсутствовал кондиционер. Ночью же окно открыть было невозможно вследствие первой причины.||В третьих – дверь душевой кабины была сломана и попросту отсутствовала. Когда принимали душ, весь санузел был залит водой. На просьбу отремонтировать душ или заменить номер предложили вариант еще меньшего по размерам номера под самой крышей (практически голубятня), в котором были по середине два толстенных столба, подпирающих крышу и одно окошечко размером 0.5Х0.5 метра . Видимо для того, чтобы не разбить лоб об эти столбы.||В четвертых – завтраки были настолько скудны по ассортименту и по количеству, что было просто неловко взять лишнюю ложку творога или стакан кефира.||В пятых – на сайте объявлено, что отель предлагает гостям общественную парковку по цене 3.5 евро. Деньги то отель берет, но на вопрос, а где можно поставить автомобиль служащие только разводят руками и говорят – где найдете место. Но об этом подробнее ниже.||И, наконец, об обслуживающем персонале и отношении к гостям. На первый взгляд все корректно. Но на ресепшн не оказалось никого, кто хоть как-то говорил или понимал по русски (все в одночасье его забыли). И, как впоследствии оказалось, и во всем отеле. Но на английском объясниться было можно.||Теперь о парковке. Это тоже имеет отношение к вниманию к гостям. При заселении (это было , что важно, около 17 часов) с нас взяли плату за парковку за два дня, на которые был забронирован номер. Каково же было наше удивление, когда при отъезде мы увидели штрафную квитанцию на лобовом стекле автомобиля за нарушение правил парковки. Попытки выяснить ситуацию (ведь мы то все, что просил отель оплатили и никаких правил не нарушали) не увенчались успехом, поскольку, как нам сказали на ресепшн, ни директора, ни его заместителя в отеле не было. И вообще кого-либо говорящего по русски не оказалось. На английском нам объяснили, что платить мы должны были за 3 дня, так как день приезда и день отъезда считаются как отдельные дни. Но как впоследствии выяснилось (уже в городской службе обслуживающей парковки) парковка является платной с 8 до 18 часов. Кроме того 1 час можно бесплатно парковаться по парковочным часам. Так, что с нас вообще не должны были брать плату за день приезда. Об этом служащие отеля нам ничего не сказали и выписали неправильную квитанцию об оплате. Таким образом (случайно или преднамеренно) нас сделали нарушителями, при этом своей ошибки не признали и даже (хотя бы ради приличия) не извинились . Вот такое отношение к гостям продемонстрировали сотрудники отеля. Поэтому в этот отель мы больше ни ногой и предостерегаем всех – обходите этот...
