Habesha 2000 is just the spot to be if your want to have a taste of Ethiopian culture, music, people and everything wonderful! I was entertained by the dancers, particularly a lady who kept turning and spinning her head while dancing, for many many minutes and she didn't get dizzy! There was a buffet so I made sure to fill my plate with everything that seemed familiar and unfamiliar. From cow towels (if that's what they're called) to the famous Ethiopian Ingera. I finally also tasted the honey wine. It looks non-suspicious but hey! Take it easy on that wine. If you're lucky, you could get to dance with the dancers too. It was interesting to note that there was also some sort of marriage celebration going on at the same time while tourists watched on. If you've never seen an Ethiopian marriage ceremony, you might be lucky to find some newly weds celebrating with their families there at habesha. While they dance on stage, someone sprays some money on them.

This restaurant does not accept international credit cards like Mastercard, although they do have an ATM right outside. Be cautious of the billing process—while the menu states that the 15% tax and 10% service charge are not included, they actually apply the service charge to the taxed amount. It means you end up paying an extra 26.5% (1.1 * 1.15 -1). For example, our bill was 1,442.70, but we ended up paying 1,825.02. The food is overpriced and not particularly good. I'd recommend sticking to soft drinks. The show, however, was enjoyable. Just be aware that the staff frequently walk in front of the stage, so even if you reserve a good seat, the view might still be not good.

They say this is most the authentic Ethiopian restaurant in whole Addis Ababa. I cannot disagree, but I didnt saw them much. I just know the food, the very same food we ate the day before was spmehow even better then here, and for sure it was cheaper. But, here atmosphere is very alive, you have dancers, singers, so it's more about that then food in my opinion. We ordered a lot of food, we ate everything, you will not exit hungry from here. For 3 of us bill was 5229 birrs (in August 2024 that was 86€ + tip). Edut: In May 2025 5229 birrs is 35€. Inflation? Yes.

My tour guide from Ethio Tours took me here on my first evening in Addis. I loved having the buffet of all different kinds of Ethiopian food including some delicious injera. The entertainment was a fantastic mix of singing and dancing from many different regions around Ethiopia. They could do with a MC to give a little info on where the dance/music has come from because my guide would tell me and that helped me to understand the context more. Really great night and I recommend this place

The absolute highlight of our transit in Addis Ababa. The food was delicious and they had the widest assortment we had seen anywhere in the city. There is a stage and throughout the night, singers and dancers perform traditional music and dances for the guests. They even engage the audience in some dances. The night we went, the singers performed in some of the languages that were represented in the audience and even got one of our group members to sing. All round amazing experience.
