The Beach Shack Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Viti Levu

We decided to have dinner here for our last night and what a big let down it was.

There was a total of 7 Adults and 2 kids and were seated at 6:30pm.

Everything went smoothly in the beginning with the appys and the kids meals arriving in a timely manner.

By 8:30pm we were still waiting for our mains, I was informed by the waitress that 4 of the mains were ready and just waiting on the last 2, I told her that it was ok to bring the 4 mains and the 2 can be bought over once it was ready. She agreed to the request but no meals was brought over to the table, finally received 2 of the mains at 9pm which were 2 orders of the pork belly that was not edible at all.

Recieved 2 more mains at 9:30 pm which included an oily prawn curry that had 4 pieces of prawns at $40.

Received our 5th main at 9:45pm which was a whole fish that was shared between 2 people.

Waitress finally came by and asked if everyone had gotten there meals, informed her that we were still waiting on 1 more main which was the tuna.

I finally left the table at 10pm as the kids were getting restless as it's been 3.5 hours dinner service while my wife stayed behind with the rest of the dinner party.

After I left the waitress came back with a totally different dish and informed the table that they had run out of tuna.

The lack of communication is what bothered me the most, if they had informed us of the delays than we would have just had them send our meals to our room while we enjoyed our last evening together.

We were informed at the end of the meal that they had forgotten about our table and had misplaced our order hence why the meals were coming out rushed and not in a timely manner.

They did comp 2 of the meals and gave us some complimantety fries and desserts but the damage had already been done.

Needless to say, we will not be dining here again on...

Unfortunately a terrible experience. I’m not one to complain although after receiving the chicken club sandwich, I couldn’t even bite into the chicken because it was so tough, I was ripping the chicken apart just to be able to eat it on the sandwich. My friend also got the grilled fish and chips, and after one bite could not eat anymore also because the fish was so tough. It felt like both meats were microwaved and completely dried out. We politely advised the servers of this issue and were treated very poorly and not once received an apology. I was happy to pay for my meal as I still ate it although when my friend requested to pay just for what she ate (the chips) they refused and said the most they could do was 10% off. Not happy with this outcome we remained stern with them and after arguing back and forth with us, they eventually agreed to charge her $8 for the chips rather than the price of the whole meal. Walking out of the restaurant we received death stares from all the staff while they spoke in their language (probably about us) and it was not at all a pleasant experience. Will not...

We gave this restaurant a go based on its re launch, it was horrendous. Booked for 6pm with three small kids, table not ready so shuffled onto a beach outdoor setting (with a stroller), got out table in about 10 mins. Seems nobody was running the service, we had no menus which they realised when they came to take our order. Kids meals took an hour fifteen, meals for adults a further hour and arrived lukewarm with items missing. Nobody came to take additional drinks orders beyond the first drink and nobody really seemed to care when we provided the feedback. When we went to pay the bill they had the missing items on the bill as a charge, removed once i questioned it but again just no clue. The restaurant was no more than half full, couldn't imagine it on a busy night.

We were told there was a kids club but this was nowhere to be seen and nobody to ask.

All in all I would discourage anyone from wasting their $$ and try one of the many other nearby...
