Played 18 holes here beginning of May 2025. Walked to the course from the cruise ship tender port, approx. 15 min easy walk. Paid ~US$100 at senior rate, including club rental and cart (see attached pic of rates sheet, bottom rates are club rental) using my US visa card. Clubs available were combinations of Ping G425 & G430, stiff & regular flex. The electric cart came with an ice box with ice (I brought my own water) and was in good condition. Tee box locations can be a bit confusing, and crossing a couple public roads is required, but not too bad if using common sense. Course fairways were dry and hard, with long run off. Rough is really thick and balls disappear easily, even when not that far offline. Greens were a mixture of slow and fast. Bunkers are in a bad state, with no maintenance and not a single rake noted. Bring spare balls as there is lots of water and thick rough (although you can buy some 2nd hand ones on course from some locals). Started at 14h00, finished at 17h30 (no stopping for halfway break) and was getting dark, so play fast if you start late. Staff were friendly although not overly helpful even though there were a lot of them standing around. Tried to go to the men's restroom and there were two female cleaners inside having a good conversation, which was slightly off-putting when trying to do your business.
Overall, I had a good time and would play...

Our experience at Denarau Golf Club was extremely disappointing and felt like a complete scam. We werenโt allowed to pay upfront โ which shouldโve been the first red flag โ but were reassured by staff that โall was good.โ Despite arriving much earlier, we werenโt allowed to tee off until 3:45pm, and ended up finishing in near darkness. By then, the pro shop was closed and the ATM on site had been shut off.
To make matters worse, staff then demanded cash payment and insisted we withdraw funds off-site within 30 minutes โ an absurd and uncomfortable situation. We were ultimately forced to hand over $300 AUD in cash for just 9 holes for two players (my son and I), including clubs and a cart. Outrageous.
As for the course โ it's nowhere near the standard you'd expect for the price. Fairways were barely mowed, rough was overgrown (making balls nearly impossible to find), and the greens were extremely slow.
We've played many courses over the years, and this was by far one of the worst value-for-money experiences we've ever had. Unprofessional, poorly maintained, and highly questionable practices. Do not waste your time...
ย ย ย Read moreThe golf course was great, But I was sick of the amount of money this place tries to take from you... I asked about attire, he tried to sell me golf wear, I informed him that I had my own attire and I was simply asking what we were ALLOWED to wear on the course as it may have been a more relaxed course. He then sighed in disappointment. I asked to play twilight (3pm) and the staff member booked me in for 2:50pm PURELY so I could pay more. When I said I wanted it for after 3pm, he said I can book the tee at 2:50 but tee off at 3pm. (at FULL cost). He then informed me there was no tee time at 3pm.... When I came back. I rebooked for 3pm and there was no problem what so ever. He asked if I needed to rent golf clubs, I replied with no because I have my own, I received ANOTHER BIG sigh, If I hadn't have already packed my OWN golf gear on MY holiday, I wouldn't have come back due to being hustled!!!
Tip: You're already making money off of tee times and most people renting gear itself, along with minimum wage being $3.50! STOP trying to rip people off when you...
