Gastro Cafe Kallio — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

Two lunch reviews, both 5+ stars:

1. Delicious food every time! Today for lunch I had Lyonnaise Chicken that was absolutely fantastic! The apple-celery soup was also very yummy.

2. Update 8 months later - the pumpkin lunch dish with marinated mushrooms was super delicious, its nice that vegetarian option is as good and filling as the meaty ones. Also, it was nice to have a glass of good wine and eat outside in the sun.

Gastro Cafe is hands down the best lunch place in Kallio!

3. Third lunch review about an year later - in between there has been many amazing lunches here! Now I had the lunch menu with three courses. As a starter the blini with mushrooms was hands down the best blini I've ever eaten, and the mushrooms were so deliciously marinated! But for the first time did not enjoy the main course that much as the pelmeni dish was quite tastless. But this was the first time of so, so many visits here, so it doesn't even count. The white wine I had this time wasn't either anything special, last time the white wine was the best wine I have...

I highly respect this restaurant! They didn’t serve breakfast at my arrival time. They were kind enough to translate the lunch menu to English.

My respect goes high for including free soup, bread, fresh brewed coffee, and water with any order! Additionally, I only saw 2 persons serving the entire place!

The complimentary soup was really excellent! A creamy vegetables soup. The coffee was good. However, my crepes mini mushrooms inside filling were very good, while the whole wheat flour used for the crepe was a little sweet. Also, it was slightly overcooked, and little dry. The coleslaw side was good.

Solid and liquid beverages are delicious here but they have rather challenging price segment compared to the size of their portions for me personally. This is your place if you have extra money to burn and aren't looking for price to quality but rather social activities paired with friends.

Atmosphere is relaxing and feel good. Young adults seem to be the regular customers here. These people have money so they spend it here. Service was really friendly and kind which give so much more to this place. So in all nothing to complain in this place. Just challenging prices for...
