Restaurant HSS Paviljonki — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

Had an absolute nightmare experience today at HSS. The service was completely incompetent and was not able to manage simple orders. Plenty of dishes were not available. The food quality has deteriorated immensely since the change in owners last year. After receiving a starter of beef tartar consisting of huge chunks of chewy unseasoned and slimey meat (see picture), we had to stop our dinner and leave without having eaten after 1.5 hours. The service and especially the food quality and presentation is a disaster. It’s an unbelievable shame what has happened to this place since the change in ownership last year.

After asking the service for the responsible restaurant managers name to give him direct feedback, they refused to provide the details. I suppose I would also not like anybody to know my name if I ran a restaurant like that.

Immediate action needed: Train staff professionally, get order management at table straightened out, change chef in kitchen!, improve and check food quality, availability...

It's great to be an insider, but not to be pretty much the only person at a music gig...or a restaurant. It's typical of function venues to be a little clunky when they try to be a restaurant, too. It would help here if the tables were broken down from the classic 8/10 seaters that we are a two within. The service is really good, but our mains come about 45 minutes after our appetisers are cleared. And they themselves sat empty in front of us a good long while, too, after they too took around 20 minutes to surface. And the weirdest thing, well one of the weirdest things, was that the fish was lukewarm, so it had left the pan about 10 minutes before it reached us. Beautiful place just outside of Helsinki. Toi actually have to take a (small) ferry (or your own boat) to get here is in a small island. We had a three course meal that was just perfect!
