Really nice experience right next to the sea. We went on a Sunday evening, no queue and no problem finding a table. Yes, the drinks are expensive but you pay for the view. It’s really worth a visit. We tried the cocktails Moulin Rouge and High by the sea. They kindly added extra syrup to make them sweeter for us. Both were delicious!

Amazing site sight place, it was my 6th time to Helsinki this May 2018 when I first visited this place strongly recommended to go have a walk along the sea side then stop and rest relax at this one ... drink some coffee or whatever you like, chit chat with your company.. enjoy the sun .. have Fun 😊👍

Nice bar by the shore, but what made it 5-star was the food pop up Farouge (fuzzily pictured in fading light). Excellent food with beautiful spices, we enjoyed the lamb, chicken, with falafel, hummus and green beans. Genuine thanks to the marvellous chef - a memorable meal in a marvellous setting.

If you're looking for a terass with a great view over the Eira harbour and the sea on a warm summer day - Mattolaituri would be a great choice. Mattolaituri has a very classy look, and in terms of Helsinki terasses with a view over the sea, this place is definitely in the top 10. The down side of this place on the other hand, is the fact that it's also one of the most expensive terasses in the city. Further more, the clientele varies a lot from mid-day to evening. During day time Mattolaituri is classy & relaxing due to a more mature crowd. During say a Friday evening Mattolaituri tends to become a sparkling wine party for the 18-year-olds...

Nice place with a view.

BEWARE OF SEAGULLS! We bought a Beef sandwich and the minute we sat down (under a sunshade, two meters from the counter/cashier) a seagull flew between us and snatched the meat from the bread roll.

I understand this can happen, but the fact that Mattolaituri demanded us to pay for a new one is not OK. I understand that if one goes to the restroom, leave Food behind unattended and then find and empty plate, it's your own fault. But loosing a meal 3 seconds after sitting down is not the customers fault.

Many other cafe's will provide a new one for free in similar cases.

So a nice place, but I suggest to order...
