Uunisaari — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

Very tasty place only 2 min by boat from the very city center. The island is small, 10 min of slow walk around, but you’ll see the fantastic nordic scenery, ferries and the sea. I have spotted the open terrace for summer time and sauna for winter ;) there is also the beach. I was with my 2 girls (8 y.o. and 1,5 y.o.) today on the island. They enjoyed the boat (1 euro per person) and the territory. Uunisaari restaurant has small menu, but everything fresh and really tasty. I got salmon soup and kids burger for my daughter. I had the largest aperol spritz coctail ever in Finland :) Both food and drink were good! We left nothing on the plates. Nice spot, big windows onto a beautiful view of the sea, rocks, and wispy snow. Had a sandwich (6.50e) and tea (3e), which were both ok. I'd say a bit expensive but such prices are the norm in Helsinki. They serve lunch for 10e, which today was not too appealing (boiled potatoes and sausage sauce). The toilets were disappointing - only 1 out of 4 cubicles had any toilet paper, and some of the facilities were broken. I think the location is really lovely and the place has a lot of potential. I wish restaurants and cafes and public places the world over would stop playing teenage angsty pop - there is so much music in the world, why always this garbage? And silence is a good option too! Payed quite a lot for the burger and got meat patty totally raw, supposed to be medium. Blood was coming while I cut it. Was expecting staff will pass by at some point to share my experience, but plate with 2/3 finished burger (as much as I possibly could eat being hungry) was still there after 40 minutes.
