Restaurant Saari — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

The short ferry that brings you to Restaurant Saari is the first great item about this particular resto and makes getting there an little adventure (for those that don't often take boats to restaurants). The 'secret special' appetizer is definitely worth a try. I won't ruin it here by giving away the collection specifics, but it involves items from the ocean and land both meat and vegetable. The main dish of artic char was delicious and the mash potatoes ( or yogourt potatoes as they are listed )...

The whole entire experience is just fantastic!

From taking the short boat ride to this island, and enjoying the quiet atmosphere and view from the restaurant, and then the wonderfully prepared delicious food, continuously enjoying the drinks and the view ..... and great service!

We really didn’t mind stying here longer and eat more, but we were really full!

We picked outdoor sitting so we can enjoy the great view.

I visited Saari in August 2015 and had the pleasure of trying Lohikeitto (Finnish Salmon Soup) for the first time. To this day, it remains the best soup dish I've ever had. Whenever I revisit Finland, I make it a point to find Lohikeitto, but nothing compares to the one served at Saari.
